I can't remember who said it, but a few weeks back a defender from another team said they knew when the skins were running. Didn't it really seem that way yesterday too? I mean is it just coincidence that D linemen ended up in the backfield 10+ times?

I would say the jury is still out on Kyle, if Defenses are seeing on film tendencies of how he runs the ball, that's on Kyle. I think he has so few running plays that the D easily sees them & they must be doing something in formations that tips the defense.

Our running game is AWFUL. It seems that we only run the same one or two plays and it is obviously not working. Someone needs to be held accountable for this, I thought Shanahan was famous for making any scrub QB a 1,000 yard rusher.

Mike Shannahan - for not going for the 2 point conversion. A 3-6 team should take that opportunity.

Mike Shannahan - for having trust in Gano to make any field goal that is important (I'm an FSU fan, so both games my teams lost this week were because FSU kickers have no testicular fortitude)

Gano - for having no guts, make the damn kick. FML!

I really wanted to see them go for 2 after the TD, like you said, we are 3-6 why not do it?

Orakpo will be fine, the Skins just need to get a lead so he pin his ears back and get after the Qb.

ZBS doesn't do very well when the OL has little time to gel together and "work as one". Our vet backups aren't too hot either.

Our run game just reminds me too much of Spurrier, who only had a couple running plays he would call all game. It was almost as if they are sometimes thrown in their just to show the defense some balance, but the defense often seems to be playing for it.

In fairness, when it's worked, e.g. the Rams, Kyle went back to it & pounded the ball. Also, our wideouts just don't scare anyone, so everyone on D can play closer to the line. I also actually like the reverse, but not twice in a row!

Good point, when I saw 74 in there I was like 'who the hell is that.' then I heard the name on a bogus holding call, realized it was polumbus, didn't they sign him just a few weeks ago?

Probably something they noticed in our personnel packages. Maybe it's the specific players he puts on the field or how we line up. Or even a subtlety in how players set before the snap.

He was in many "pin his ears back" situations on 3rd down. I don't want to be too critical of one of our best players, but it really seems his game hasn't progressed this year. He's got to learn some moves, some technique w/his hands to get free. Last year he was at least held like mad, I don't really see that much this year at all. He's not making any team afraid of him, no double or many chips on him even.

On one hand, our OLB combo seems set for years, on the other, they are not dominant by any means & don't get around the edge quick enough to make QBs hurry. Most of our sacks yesterday & this year were coverage sacks, we should've had more hurries yesterday.

Gano should've made one of those two FGs. But at the same time, get in better field position.

I think a smackdown is in order for the Kyle Shanahan bashers because they think he should call more running plays. Of the 24 runs yesterday, 10 went for negative yardage. Just go back and look at the game again if you're not convinced. You want them to run the ball more, but they just can't. It's that simple, and yesterday proved it.

We have no run game. I'm baffled at the fans calling for more run plays when it gets stuffed all the time. It something is not working you have to switch to what is working. I'm not sure why the runs not working though but I'm thinking lack of talent on the OL, lack of differently designed run plays, or lack of coaching the guys on blocking technique. and I'm thinking the it's the blocking technique. Chris Foester really didn't stand out as a top notch OL coach and the 49ers really didn't make a hard push to keep him, if I'm not mistaken I think they wanted him gone.

Perhaps I'm making too much out of coaching. perhaps there is only 2 ways to block and all the OL coaches know how to teach them so I'm probably making a bad point of view but the team does not look like it's blocking like the Denver Bronco's back when MS was in Denver. Atleast not to me.

Injuries have blown up our OL, that's why we can't run.
