Good riddance, glad he's off the East Coast so we can watch him fail miserably on a National stage.

From Dennis Erickson to Mike Nolan????? Is this supposed to be an improvement?

This is sad, back to back coaches that don't deserve to be head coaches.

I must admit Im shocked they hired a defensive mind.

And to think we have it bad as Redskins fans. The 49ers are by far the worst off team in the NFL. Seriously, they just have no hope whatsoever. Even I think Dolphins fans, Browns fans, have reason for optomsim next year (#2/#3 picks in draft this year, meaning second and worst teams.) But the 49ers are screwed for a very long time.

What happened to all this talk of the 49ers making a big splash with their next head coach?

I think they rushed into this decision

I guess they think they're basically getting the next Jim Mora Jr. when of course they could have gotten JM Jr. himself had he not gone to Atlanta

Maybe they couldn't get a bigger or better name...we did read that Williams declined to be considered for the job....maybe other coaches did the same.
