VTSkins1961 11-12-2011, 07:32 PM 1. Resign Landry.
2. Cut Grossman
3. Sign top tier CB & WR & C - Free agents
4. Trade Atogwe (he's hurt to much) for best draft pick we can get.
5. Draft best QB available R1
6. Sign Best Free Agent QB available.
7. Rest of draft - OL, OL, DT, ILB, S, CB, HB OL - best availible during draft
8. Cooley - pay cut or trade for whatever we can get
9. Hightower - resign at bargain price
SmootSmack 11-12-2011, 08:03 PM 2 new QBs. Whatever else they want to do I don't care
Schneed10 11-12-2011, 08:15 PM Trade for Andrew Luck at all costs. I mean like a Ditka move, trade away the entire draft and throw in next year's 1st rounder if you have to. If impossible, then prioritize as follows:
- Franchise QB with mobility, if available in draft
- Wide Receiver
- Right Tackle
- Guard
Big C 11-12-2011, 08:18 PM have to draft a quarterback in the 1st round. id be fine with trading up to draft luck, id be fine with barkley, and id be ok with RG3. those are the only 3 id be happy with. one way or another, we need to draft one of those 3.
i'd try to focus on getting a vereran wide receiver in free agency rather than drafting a wide receiver. we have a lot of young guys, we need a guy that can come in right away and be a playmaker. hopefully we focus on getting that in free agency.
id bring in a stud corner in free agency as well if possible. that way we could play wilson as the nickle corner. either way, we need to add more depth to our secondary. id definitely add a corner and a safety in the draft.
obviously we need some more depth on the offensive line. id add depth in the draft but sign a right tackle to start for us.
in terms of our own current personnel, id re-sign fletcher and landry. id keep beck and let grossman go as he is not under contract for next season i believe. id part ways with jamaal brown.
Alvin Walton 11-12-2011, 08:55 PM Arrange the coaching so that Kyle Little Shan does not call the plays anymore.
And or let him find a high school team to coach.
QB -#1 draft pick, but do NOT give up the farm for a Luck trade.
OL - 2nd, 3rd and 4th round draft picks.
RB - Hightower will not be 100% next year. Helu may be a #1. Keep Torain.
Draft another in the mid rounds.
WR - Keep Gaffney, hope Moss bounces back and hope that Paul becomes something usable. The big thing here is to know is if Hankerson turns into a consistent starter AKA a #1. I would start him the rest of this year and find out.
TE -Davis is #1...period. Cooley....sorry dude, I luv ya, always been a Skin favorite but at this point I dont care if you stay or go, need youth and guys that can block.
DL - Need depth, otherwise I think we are pretty good there.
ILB - If Fletcher can stay another year then great. Rocky is not consistent but I'd keep him in the interest of spending draft picks on the offense.
Are there decent FA LBs next year?
The secondary - I could spend a half hour typing this up....blah...needs a lot of work.
ST - Replace Banks, he hasn't done squat, other than that its in pretty decent shape.
That Guy 11-12-2011, 09:18 PM sell out for a good QB, draft/sign 3 OL guys, no less. we need a OG, RT, and a 6th starter for injury insurance.
secondary concerns would be a true #1 CB and a #1 WR, though i think our WRs w/ moss are okay if the QB/line weren't awful.
another DB (safety or #3 CB) would be nice, as would another DL guy.
Lotus 11-12-2011, 09:32 PM It's a little early for this thread. We don't know who will be FA, we don't know who will announce for the draft, and we don't know where we'll pick.
That said, here goes:
1) Send Beck packing. Re-sign Wrecks to a low-risk contract so that he can be cut as soon as he is done tutoring. Sign best possible FA QB. Sell the house to draft the best possible QB. Pick up another rookie QB in the late rounds or UDFA.
2) draft WR in the second round (if we still have that pick) so we can give our new QB a target
3) draft CB in the third round
4) re-sign F. Davis, Landry, and Hightower
5) restructure or trade Cooley
6) get good young ILB in FA
7) use lower draft picks and FA to build OL depth, RB depth, and depth at every level of the defense
GMScud 11-12-2011, 10:10 PM 2 new QBs. Whatever else they want to do I don't care
I agree, however I'll add that we really need a bona fide #1 WR. Badly.
skinsfaninok 11-12-2011, 10:14 PM Ok like Lotus it's kinda hard but it ALL STARTS with the QB position, I want a Rookie QB to come in and pretty much start day1.. Draft wise I'd say something like...
Round 1. - Robert Griffin III- We won't get Luck no chance and I'd rather have RGIII than Barkley, I don't like USC QB's just the weak arm aspect and no mobility kills me. Palmer was solid but not great... IF RG stays at Baylor which is doubtful, I'd consider Landry Jones (but he's almost certain to stay at OU) or Nick Foles from ARIZONA. Again we need to draft a QB in the 1st round and commit to the guy, give him the help he needs to become a big time QB.
Round2. I say we trade back into the first round somehow and grab WR Alshon Jeffery from S.C, big physical possession WR the redskins have missed for YEARS! I'd love Blackmon here but he'll be a top 5 pick IMO. Give our young QB some talent (Bengals for example) Hankerson, Moss and Jeffery and we will be much better off.
Later rounds I'd go OL, and DB.
.................................................. .................................................. ..................
Free Agency priorities..
1. OL- I actually think our line isn't all that bad considering. I do hope for another G and if Brown leaves of course a RT.
2. DB- Hall isn't leaving folks but we are BAD at CB and need some serious help there.
3. LB- Flecth is getting OLDER by the MIN even though I love the guy but we need some help and Rocky is just losing a step out there.
4. WR- NEED TALENT that is plain and simple
5. RB- TH had a bad injury and Helu is still unproven. ATV is just AVG it's important to get a guy that is a threat.
BOLD PREDICTION FOR 2012 FREE AGENCY
Skins will sign WR Dwayne Bowe from KC, Just a wild thought.
EARTHQUAKE2689 11-12-2011, 10:24 PM Blackmon will NOT be a top 5 pick. He's good but not Calvin Johnson.
