Al Davis seems to have left a pretty good team behind for Oakland before his passing. Maybe he'll indeed get the last laugh in the end.

Lots of people laughed at him for drafting speed, well how did it turn out tonight? When you have a QB that can deliver the ball it makes a difference, maybe Al wasn't the kook that everyone made him out to be. When you have a QB that can deliver the ball it makes a difference, maybe Al wasn't the kook that everyone made him out to be. People remember single huge and colossal moves that have huge effects on a team moreso than many "quieter" yet solid moves that a peronnel guy makes. For Davis, drafting Russell and, to a lesser extent, trading for Seymour, gave him a bad rap. The opposite applies to the Colts FO, in which their "genius" is actually mostly due to one of the easiest picks to make in the draft(P. Manning). Also, McFadden having a terrible first year also hurt. GTripp0012 11-11-2011, 01:49 AM They have a rookie name Vincent Brown ballin and the skins have rookie WRs that never pan out MY GODVincent Brown and Leonard Hankerson are pretty much the same player. Brown will have better numbers this year because of the two quarterbacks, but I think that the biggest difference is that the Chargers offer Jackson, Floyd, and Brown, and the Redskins have Moss, Gaffney, and Hankerson. The biggest difference isn't Brown and Hankerson. WilbursHomie 11-11-2011, 02:45 AM Old Norv, maybe time to head back to a coordinator role after this year buddy. Jontrem 11-11-2011, 09:34 AM Vincent Brown and Leonard Hankerson are pretty much the same player. Brown appears to be a shorter receiver. Hankerson is a fairly big guy at 6'2 and like 210. Just looked up brown and he is 5'11 187. I agree with everything else you said but that they are pretty much the same player. GTripp0012 11-11-2011, 01:35 PM It's probably not fair to Norv that he gets crapped on everytime something goes wrong for the Chargers. In his first four seasons, the Chargers performed as a good, sometimes great team with a moderate amount of success in the playoffs (exactly the level a division leader like them should have produced at). People blamed Norv for that. Now, people are blaming Norv for what's wrong with the Chargers now. The Chargers have some issues this year that are causing them to not be a good -- or very complete -- team. Again, Norv Turner might not be the best man to correct these issues and right the ship, but these issues could and have happened to all sorts of other teams. Norv shouldn't take extra blame just because he failed to win in Washington and Oakland. GTripp0012 11-11-2011, 01:38 PM Or put another way: Mike Shanahan (14 seasons), AFC West Titles: 3 Norv Turner (4 seasons), AFC West Titles: 3 SmootSmack 11-11-2011, 01:49 PM Of course, Shanahan's Broncos also finished 10-6 two times and 11-5 another time but did not win the division. And one of Norv's division titles came with an 8-8 record (same record as Shanahan's Broncos and as Zorn's Redskins...who finished last in the division) sportscurmudgeon 11-11-2011, 04:03 PM Palmer is looking good. But what the hell is wrong with SD? Something is wrong with Rivers. I am not a physician but I think he has a sore arm/shoulder. He has always had a "different" throwing motion but in the last month it looks to me as if he is "short-arming" some of his throws. That is what a baseball pitcher with soreness in the shoulder does.
