I agree with your position, it was just the characterism of the action with which I disagreed. Call it semantics but, to me, words and definitions - particularly in emotionally charged debates - are important.
The school lunch thing is really out of hand. I get the concern but somewhere, somehow some over zealous little bureaucrats are running rampant. I would be on the phone to my rep & the papers and be filing an injunctive action and a FOIA request to make that little bureaucrats life a living hell. City hall can be fought, you just need to be persistant, paper it up and hit'em where they hurt - i.e. make SOMEONE claim responsibility for it. As soon as someone - bureaucrat or politician - gets held accountable, watch how fast they move to change their unpopular position.

I have a good idea. Get these fat ass lazy kids off their ass playing video games and get them outside doing something. The food is not the problem its the lazy parents and lazy kids. What happend to gym. Back when I was a kid we played dodge ball and that made the fat kids the targets but they had to move to dodge the balls. When I think back to the 80's we really only had chubby kids and I don't remember any really fat kids like we have today. Maybe it was because they got their excersize from dodging balls and running from the mean kids.

Those articles seem contradict themselves. They say they don't go through the childrens lunch bags but they monitor what they are eating. So while they might not be reaching in the lunch bag and removing its contents they are viewing the contents at some point. I also don't buy that they then just offer them additional foods to supliment their lunch. If thats true. Then they just sit by when a child is sucking down a soda and other junk and not touching the meal they also try to provide. Right. Also if they only provide whats missing then why did the child eat the chicken nuggets because she had a turkey sandwish witch provided meat. The only thing I can see the mother left out was a vegetable. Maybe the schools need to get back to teaching and not feeding because they are failing at that.
