thread title updated

Now it makes sense. I'm reading the post about who we are going to cut thinking its right there in the title.

Kyle probably told his dady if he just had one more WR he could get the O clicking.

It's about time this move was made.

Stallworth served the exact same purpose Galloway did last year. If you ask Armstrong and Austin last year they'll tell you Galloway was a huge help for them in learning the WR position and adjusting to life in the NFL. I'm sure Paul and Hankerson would say the same about Donte.

I think Donte can still play (though not if there's no QB) and don't believe he was necessarily impeding of Paul and Hankerson. Meaning if Donte wasn't here, there probably would have been some other player/reason not play those two until now. Still, he had become unneccessary and it's the right move to let him go.

So I guess that means this Anderson guy has a some in his store of human capital* that he has accumulated that Stallworth didn't have. Stallworth, at least to me, was a very mature fellow, and that probably helped the young'uns along, even though he did nothing on the field.

*Human capital is the stock of competences, knowledge and personality attributes embodied in the ability to perform labor so as to produce economic value. It is the attributes gained by a worker through education and experience. (from Wikipedia).

/plug for an concept used by economists. :)

Two points:

1. "He was in Houston with Kyle so he knows the offense..." Please remember that Rex Grossman was also in Houston with Kyle and he also "knew the offense". How'd that work out...?

2. The reason the Redskins need 8 WRs on the roster is that only 1 of them is any good - - and he's injured. Because the Redskins have 8 WRs on the roster, they did not have the option to keep sufficient numbers of offensive linemen that they need/needed to plug into the lineup. I'd rather see the Redskins sign an offensive guard and release a WR.

One more point. The day the Skins signed Stallworth, Doc Walker had him on the radio show. Walker went nuts about how Stallworth was a "baller" and someone who would "open the field" and who would make defenses game plan to stop him. Walker said that Stallworth was a stud.

Add Donte Stallworth to an ever-growing list of guys that come to DC with Doc Walker slobbering all over them and who leave town with all the fans just shrugging their shoulders and wondering why it took so long. Previous examples:

Juwann Howard

Jaromir Jagr

Adam Dunn

Albert Haynesworth - - he would make the OL better because they would have to practice against this monster every day. [stifling a laugh here...]

Donovan McNabb

Oh and don't forget his fawning all over Joe Gibbs' return along with Joe Bugel and now Mike Shanahan...

The world needs more people like Donte Stallworth (and yeah I'm not forgetting the manslaughter charge), but the Redskins don't really need more people like him

Moss is hurt and Paul is out for a couple of weeks, so that's two receivers down. I think people tend to forget that your lower level WRs on a roster also tend to play on special teams. Lower lever OL tend to sit on the bench or sit inactive until needed. So a) WRs are more likely to be added to an active roster than OL midseason because of the versatility they offer and b) What OL are out there
