I really think people play too much Madden and think that's the way the NFL works.

I am growing extremely tired of this crap...
In an effort to not be a jerk about this I will not use names but it is seriously time for some people around here to face the fact that they know nothing about football. Or at least don't have a firm grasp of the way the NFL works. On top of the fact that you don't trade an all pro line backer for apparently no good reason you also don't trade an all pro linebacker when it would KILL YOUR FREAKING CAP!!!. It would not save us any money at all next year. Listen up people...this team is built for next year. Next year is it. Talent wise next year will be our best year we've had in awhile and may be short lived since 2006 may require some serious rework for cap reasons. We are not trading Portis or Lavar or anybody outside of the obvious candidates...plain and simple it is not going to happen. ANd any 'journalist' who suggests otherwise clearly is making things up just for the heck of it...those tards over at Comcats must not understand the NFL as much as they would have you believe.I have a very little knowledge about the salary cap. Could you read my rply which is #8 and give me any insight you may have. Thanks

In one of gibbs last press confrence he was talking about a three year window in the cap space. This is a moving three year window. He said the team was fine as with the cap perspective over the next three years. Maybe danny boy has a syatem that we are overlooking with the cap room. Has he structured contracts for this? Is this a plan to keep renegotiating contracts to give us room? We allways are hearing about our cap problems but it seems every year we find the room to sign new players. Does anyone have any insight on this or have heard gibbs speak of this?

I remember back when we went our our big restricted free agent blitz when we got Coles, Hall, Thomas, etc., the WP had a very detailed article about the Redskins plan of attack, and I do remember them mentioning that Snyder had extensive cap spreadsheets of 3-year projections and he worked closely with those projections when he structured the contracts to ensure they were staying under the cap.

OK. As I said before, Marshall and Clemons filled in admirably in Arrington's absense. As did Feeley and Detmer did for PHI when McNabb was hurt. Just as Marshall, Clemons, Detmer, and Feeley all benefited from being in a system that plays to thier own strengths, realisticly, none of these guys aren't near franchise caliber personnel. We finally have a coach (Williams) and a system with core guys that need not an all-world, top-of-league-contract LB. Follow me? :oink:

I know we all love to speculate in the off-season, but I'm taking the stance that we are seriously stacked on the team for the next few years. Yes, a few free agent acquistions/draft picks to upgrade, NOT replace. I heard somewhere that if the Redskins were to have scored 23 more points this year, that their record would have been 10+ wins. I don't think that turning over the roster AGAIN is going to add those 23 points.

This is where I feel that an added WR/OL/DE is going to make a world of difference, not trading our best linebacker.

Bottom line:

Arrington isn't going anywhere, neither is Portis or Coles.

#1, Unless you're cleaning house due to cap reasons why would you trade your stars?

#2, with their contracts they are virtually untradeable, unless you want to bury the team with massive cap hits.

End of story.

True Maden Baller here. Yes, I play lots of Madden. But unlike most, I hate 'franchise' mode. :oink:

Any way we could find to trade LA for a ton of draft picks would, IMO, be a great move. Just like the cowboys did with Herschel Walker to get the picks that essentially built their championship team.
