I like him as a player and a person, but I'd prefer Barkley, Jones, or Luck over him.
I honestly don't think we have a prayer at Luck, even if we lose out (he's gonna be a Colt or Dolphin). I'm really high on Landry Jones. I think he's gonna be a stud in the NFL. I strongly disagree about not being able to get Luck. This team is going nowhere fast. Luck is not out of the question. When it comes to Jones and Barkley I would be more than happy go get either guy. But to be honest, I think RG3 is better than both. He's more mobile and more accurate than both guys. I'm a big time college football fan and this guy is clearly the best fit for what we do.

I think we'll need to be careful come draft time about QB being our first priority and the difference between that and QB being our only priority. We need to address the position in the draft. But we're still far enough behind other teams where we can't pass up any pro-bowl able body for a mid-1st round quarterback.
Im figuring we will pick around 10 again and the only player with consideration outside one of the QB would be Justin Blackmon, but the Rams will be takin him at 3 or 4. Who else do you like?
Even if we lose out, it's looking like it will be hard to beat out the Dolphins or Colts for the top pick.

There will be a good qb prospect there for us to draft. Taking the BPA is not a good strategy for building a team. We don't have the luxury of drafting another TE, S, or LB because they're the BPA. We have to draft guys that make sense. It makes no sense not to draft a qb when you have so many good ones coming out. Qb is by far our biggest need. Vinny drafted the BPA. That is why we still suck to this day.
Vinny drafted for need or decided to burn his money(draft picks ARE a currency) to fill "needs" via trades. Jason Taylor was a "need" trade. TJ Duckett was a "need" trade. Drafting Thomas and Kelly for that "big WR" were also a need picks. If he REALLY wanted to draft BPA in 2008, Vinny had Chris Johnson, Matt Forte, Mendenhall, Sam Baker etc to take.
Usually, QBs are BPA or the difference is not enough to pick a non-QB over another QB. TEs usually do not go in the first round anyway.
We are not stacked even at those positions, not long-term anyway. 3 years from now, Fletch will more than likely be retired, Otogwe is gone, and Cooley is gone. Our entire team is going to be ass in three years if we do NOT HIT on players. Hitting on players is the #1 imperative of drafting. If you do not hit, you address nothing and leave the roster in worse shape and waste time with some loser.
Carey Price is my example of BPA working out. The Habs were "loaded" at goalie when they drafted him, but almost all of those other goalies have not done much in the present.

I think Luck is out of the question. Either the Colts or Dolphins will end up with the #1 pick, and they're both looking for a QB for the next 15 years (who knows what's going to happen with Peyton Manning, his neck injury, and the $28M the Colts will owe him come March).
I think RG3 is a better athlete than Jones or Barkley, but IMO he's not as good a QB as either of them. Landry Jones is pretty athletic. He'd fit in just fine with what try to do offensively.

Colts are gonna be the wildcard. They could be the trade partner. Rams too

I'm sure Luck is a no brainer pick for just about every team, but every now and then a team does something really stupid, so who knows. Still, I think we can come out of next year's draft with a talented QB.

an interesting notion the sports reporters put out there last week was that as skins fans you should be praying the rams win the luck sweepstakes.
Their collective theory was that the rams would then draft luck and make bradford available whom mike was in love with but couldnt pry the 1st pick away from them 2 years ago.
but it looks like the colts and dolphins are really really sucking this year.

I completely agree with those who think that QB should be our first priority.
Forget Luck. There are other teams that are doing a much better job of sucking for Luck than we could ever do. But I think we can still get a good QB in the draft. I like Landry Jones and Matt Barkley is growing on me. We might possibly be able to pick up Flynn as a FA, if the brain trust likes him enough. I honestly feel that we're going to be alright at QB in the not too distant future.
I also agree that the OL should be our second priority. The one thing that I don't agree with others about (and perhaps this is a fine point) is the POV that we need OL depth. That's because I think that we already have OL depth. What we lack is the quality starters we need for our OL.
Trent will be fine. I like Montgomery at C. The others make for decent backups. I thought that Jammal Brown would come on this season in his second year following a major injury but it seems that he lacks the lateral quickness to start at RT. I'd say we need to find a starter at RT and at least one quality G.
My fantasy is that we have an offseason like the Skins had in 1981 when they added Mark May, Joe Jacoby, and Russ Grimm to the OL.
