Ruhskins 10-31-2011, 01:37 AM do you mean D-line? cause I'd wager 9 sacks our OL needs some work.
Our o-line was terrible today, but they are also banged up. I am sure you can find depth and another starter in later rounds and free agency. My point is that we're at the stage where we just need a good qb. The other holes are not as major as they were before.
WilbursHomie 10-31-2011, 01:53 AM Yeah, it's time. QB's are such a gamble high in the draft but we're gonna need a young new face of the franchise soon.
CultBrennan59 10-31-2011, 02:27 AM I think that's a bad idea. We have way to many wholes on our team to invest so heavily in one player. Plus there are other great qbs that would be perfect for our system.
It's amazing how drafting a QB and hitting on the right one will make all those 'holes' disappear...
Think about it for a second. Our defense except maybe our secondary, isn't that bad. They keep us in games. It's our offense that doesn't produce. If you have the right QB, that QB will get the ball out fast and make the right protections. As awful as our OL played today giving up 9 sacks, it's really not that bad of an OL, IF you have the right QB behind it. Our OL IMO is better than the Colts, Cowboys, Bills, Eagles, Lions, Steelers, even the patriots. It's about whose back their to get the ball out quickly, eat up the clock (for your defense to rest), slide the protection, step up in the pocket and have awareness. No defense, no matter how good it is, is going to be motivated to go out on the field and stop a team that is up 23-0, when their Offense isn't producing. None!
Kindoy 10-31-2011, 04:02 AM I've always been on the kellen moore bandwagon. im still here praying we get him.
Alvin Walton 10-31-2011, 09:37 AM Matt Flynn anyone?

The logic of moving up for a QB applies to anyone who Shanny deems is the future franchise QB of the team. Whether its Luck R
In regards to holes, QB is far and away the biggest hole. Unfortunately, QB is the most important position on offense.

ooh! ooh! me! me!
Flynn and a top-notch rookie and we turn a position of weakness into a position of strength.
KI Skins Fan 10-31-2011, 12:20 PM Time for a rant.
The Colts should be investigated! How can a team suck for Luck that hard and not be trying to lose? They knew that their season was lost after Peyton Manning was injured, so now it looks like they may be positioning themselves to go from 14 years with Manning at QB to a decade or more with Andrew Luck at QB. I can't hate them enough!
P.S. On top of that, the Colts will probably make some sucker organization pay a king's ransom for Manning!
End of rant.

No defense, no matter how good it is, is going to be motivated to go out on the field and stop a team that is up 23-0, when their Offense isn't producing. None! I completely understand how important the qb position is to any team. A great young qb can put us in contention for 10 years. But when draft a guy high and he comes in and get hammered his first and second year his skills are irrelevant. Just take a good look at Sam Bradford. Last year he was pretty good. This year you're not seeing the same player because he's supporting cast isn't all that good outside of Jackson. It doesn't matter if he's the right guy if you don't have the right people around him he will look bad. When I look at this team before the injuries we have wholes on the QB, C, LG, RG, RT, WR, NT, ILB, and CB. This team is lacking in all of those areas. One guy will not change that. Trading away future first round picks is never a good idea because you never know what you might need in the future. There are plenty of guys at the qb position in this draft that will be great players in this league. I see no reason to over compensate for a guy where you have other guys that can also get the job done.
