All this speculation is totally out of whack until we see what juniors declare...that will change everything tremendously. Everyone needs to cheer for Leinart to come out as well as Brooks from UVa. The more guys coming out like that the better our pick at 9 gets.

No disrespect intended but --
ARE YOU INSANE?? A 2nd or 3rd for Gardner?? Who do we call? Do it now before they come down from their crack high.
The no. 2 receiver on one of the worst pass offenses in the NFL - Now that's how you spell "in demand".
True...
whats the point in drafting antrel rolle?
a 9th overall is going to make a lot of money, not exactly top 10, but pretty close.
if we get rolle its basicly like giving away a first round draft pick to save 5 million in a signing bonus. its a waste of a pick that we couldve used at another position.

I think we could get a 5th round pick for Gardiner - but not much more than that.
I think most people realize that he will probably get cut this year, so unless they are concerned that there might be a bidding war for him (yeah right) then I'm sure they will just wait until he is cut.

I am in no way advocating taking a center with our first round pick. I WAS saying that most often, offensive linemen do not normally go in the first round, with the exception of people like Robert Gallery.
I'm saying that we could use the first round pick to fulfill the DE/WR needs and still select a beast of a center in the 2nd round.

who wants to draft rolle anyways? carlos rogers would be a much better pick!

I kind of look at it as a win-win-win situation. If we choose a pass-rushing DE, it will take pressure off the CB's. If we choose or pick up a CB, it will take pressure off of the DL. If we take a WR, it will be an added boost to the offense.
Personally I'd like to see a WR selection and take a rookie CB/DE in the later rounds.

Malcom:
Really good offensive linemen go in the first round all the time. Orlando Pace, Tra Thomas, Jermaine Mayberry, Flozell Adams (was good for a long time but is at the end of the line now), Mark May, Jim Lachay, Alan Faneca.
There isn't a center on that list, but I assure you that the Washington Redskins would ditch EVERYONE on the roster at the moment who even pretends to be an offensive lineman to have these seven players at their peak on the squad. And yes, that includes John Jansen who is far and away the best OL the Skins have at the moment!

I know exactly what you're saying. What I was saying is that I believe that the Redskins could get a top flight lineman in the later rounds of the draft.
I would personally prefer to address the skill position needs (WR) before investing in the defense.
I also can't wait for Jansen to be back this year.
