With Campbell coming back potentially in 6 weeks, I did not think they'd invest so much in a QB...just someone to bridge that gap so Boller isn't on the field. JC was playing VERY well for them...now it looks like he'll be gone since he's a FA and they've gotta stick with Palmer after overpaying for him so badly.
They better hope he's someone close to where he was before his injury. He hasn't been the same since.
However, after watching Ochocinco in NE this year...maybe it wasn't Palmer's fault completely. He should have a better offense around him in Oakland, especially with McFadden behind him. The WRs are talented but there is no clear #1. Heyward-Bey has been outstanding lately (with Campbell), Ford is always dangerous, Louis Murphy is reliable if nothing else...but no real star in the group.
Going to be interesting to watch. This is either going to propel Oakland to the next level or cripple them for 3 years minimum.

Yes I watch Oakland a lot and I do like ford guys but I'm not talking speed I'm talking production at WR and he's still unproven
The real scouts hit on guys before their production takes off. Jacoby Ford will become a 1000+ yard receiver before his career is over.

Well Brandon Lloyd was a star last year so does that make him better than anything we have? JS bro lets talk how great Ford is in 4 years
BTW 9 rec in 6 games isn't any good

Ah, faulty data analysis at its finest.
Yes, Lloyd finally get his head out of his ass and started tapping into his talents. The tapped Lloyd was indeed better than whatever we have right now. Then comes in passing game killer John Fox and Lloyd fell off the face of the planet. It is not his fault.
For was inactive for 2 games due to injury. Only started one game b/c of injury. Had 3 receptions in every game except in NE. Last time I check, injury affects production, not skill.

What if Cinci and Oakland play in the divisional playoffs round in the next two years?
If Oakland wins, Oakland will go to the AFC title game, giving Cinci an extra #1 rather than #2 pick for Palmer. In losing, Cinci wins.
If Cinci wins the game, they will go to the AFC title game, thus making that extra pick a #2 rather than a #1. In winning, Cinci will lose on draft day.
So interesting.
About the trade:
On Tuesday, the Raiders traded either a pair of No. 1s (on the condition they make the AFC title game in either of the next two seasons) or a 1 and a 2 for Carson Palmer(notes)

Injuries are apart of it my man, moss never misses games for us now that's production.. Ford is an avg at best WROh, so now Jamaal Charles is one of the worst backs in the league because he'll be posting up a giant goose-egg for the rest of the season? Or Lichtensteiger is terrible because he won't be playing for the rest of the season? Or how about Max Pacioretty's injury when getting run into the stanchion?
An unknown =/= bad.
As if the player has control of the situation in which he gets injured.
