Sports (http://sports.yahoo.com/video/player/nfl/27140208;_ylt=AokiIfUwzw9gX3eED694in.r0op4#nfl/27140208) GusFrerotte 11-05-2011, 12:58 AM It is comical. We were overperforming to our talent level prior to the injuries. I'd say that's pretty good coaching. I think many fans want to admit how crappy our team was when MS got here. I refuse to admit that the organization thinks Beck/Grossman are legit "franchise" QB's. They do have to come out publically and say nice things about them...that's what you do. We've got a ways to go, don't start going all "Snyder." Not really overperforming, just barely beating crappy underperforming teams with the exception of the Gmen in week 1, and even they underperformed. I doubt we beat the Gmen next round. Losing is one thing, but looking lost on the field is another. And as for the "Snyder" stuff? Yes it is old, but it is more than fair to say there is a large amount of truth in blaming him. This downward spiral started in late Nov when he canned Norv with 4-5 games left. The knee jerk reactions and the lackluster drafting has set us back worse than the Shuler pick. kevinjames1973 11-05-2011, 01:14 AM I am looking at the big picture. I see a new franchise since Shanny got to town. I told myself once he was hired I would not make any decisions on Shanny based on record until after the 3rd season. What I see is a group of hard working guys. Guys who see this as a job and not a right. This team was so messed up when Shanny got here that 2 years or year and a half, isnt even close to enough time to fix it. I think they got a lot of great pieces for the defense last year. And didnt overpay for average payers on offense. I think they finish reshaping the offense this off season and next year we will start to see the team of the future in DC. The Goat 11-05-2011, 02:17 AM Was checking email on yahoo and saw sidebar saying Redskins should fire Shanahan NFL: Redskins should fire Mike Shanahan - Yahoo! Sports (http://sports.yahoo.com/video/player/nfl/27140208;_ylt=AokiIfUwzw9gX3eED694in.r0op4#nfl/27140208) The comments about a near total lack of leadership are just becoming painfully obvious w/ every passing week. You can word it several ways as he said in the discussion there's no energy emanating from Mike. In fact I see no energy from any of these coaches. Where's the motivation supposed to come from? Don't tell me the paycheck. Don't tell me professional athletes shouldn't need "extra" motivation. We all look to be inspired and especially when it's tough going. Whatever the dynamic is among the current coaching staff...it's simply not working. backrow 11-05-2011, 10:58 AM I had thought about a new thread/Poll with the question about What about Mike? With a poll: 1. I like Mike! 2. Hire an up and coming Assistant Coach from another team 3. Hire a re-tread former mediocre Head Coach 4. Cowher (getting specific) 5. Mooch (see reasoning for #4.) But then I saw this extremely long thread with over 20 pages, so I'm simply adding. The poll in this current thread is good, but not as long as my analytical brain dreamed up. To answer the current poll: Should MS be in the HOT HOT HOT Seat? I'll check back in three weeks if the season is officially over for us. Right now, I'm totally leaning toward yes, but 70% of our problems are line-depth related. And MS didn't understand that from last year, and early on this year? And is that MS's problem, or BA's? 53Fan 11-05-2011, 11:14 AM Right now I would stay the course. Keep getting some good young talent in here and if things don't get better...hire an up and coming coach who doesn't have a bare cupboard when he gets here. SFREDSKIN 11-05-2011, 02:09 PM Right now I would stay the course. Keep getting some good young talent in here and if things don't get better...hire an up and coming coach who doesn't have a bare cupboard when he gets here. Like when I suggested Harbaugh 2 years ago. Sonny9TD 11-07-2011, 09:34 AM Serious time management issues. Where is the hurry up at when behind by many points. Lack of urgency. Lazy coaching preparation. But that is at the bottom of the to do list. CrustyRedskin 11-07-2011, 09:49 AM Kyle Shanahan: "Daddy we've lost four in a row, im ready to do something else this isnt any fun" Daddy Shanahan: "Boy, do you see all those zeros at the end of your pay check?, now go get Dan some coffee, and after that play a little Madden and find us a few more bootlegs." |
