GusFrerotte 10-16-2011, 07:28 PM I just think Kyle isn't what we thought he was. If his dad gave him the job to show the world Kyle was HC material, he has failed miserably. I am not that impressed with Mike either. We will see if he can rally the troops the rest of the way, and if he can't I don't see him staying around past 2012, unless he dumps his son.
Chico23231 10-16-2011, 07:30 PM Well, you guys pretty much have it covered.
Come on tryfuhl, you mean we've bashed everybody? musta missed somebody.
But tell me, where do you stand, Rex or Becks?
GTripp0012 10-16-2011, 07:50 PM sure he looked rusty and im sure there were some nerves...BUT he was much better than Rex.
1) Love the way Becks stands tall in the pocket goes through his reads
2) OMG Beck ran for a first down...havent seen that all season from a POS named Rex. Plus the QB draw for the TD, sorry Rex cant make that play.
3) Effing Gaffney dropped a TD pass from Beck. Not to be outdone, Stallworthless dropped a effing bomb that would put us in or close to the redzone.
4) Beck moved the ball under pressure much better than Rex
Beck did miss on some throws that shoulda been complete, but damn Beck played much better than Rex. Dude its not effing closeThe receiver play was terrible with Grossman and it was terrible with Beck. The only difference with Beck is that Terrence Austin got a shot and made a play.
Gaffney and Moss are inconsistent. But Stallworth is just bad.

yeah receiver play has been bad as a whole since week 1. I really cant believe that Stallworth drop, wasnt a beautiful throw, but you gotta catch that.

gaffney had a couple "gaffs" as well if I recall. Passes need to be caught with our situation at quarterback. No way we can compete if we cant do basic football maneuvers like catching a pass.
GTripp0012 10-16-2011, 08:10 PM yeah receiver play has been bad as a whole since week 1. I really cant believe that Stallworth drop, wasnt a beautiful throw, but you gotta catch that. The thing that I was getting at was that if Beck got more help from his receivers, he might have led us all the way back. But it's a moot point. Because if Grossman had gotten more help from his receivers, he wouldn't have thrown four picks and gotten benched.
Not to absolve Grossman from being a turnover machine, but I cant fault Rex for playing timid or lacking desire. If we're going to be a pass first, second, and third offense, you need a more consistent effort downfield.

I'm going Beck now...
GusFrerotte 10-16-2011, 08:14 PM The comment was that there was no reason with the amount of talent we have on the team that we shouldn't be a wildcard team, the response was, yeah, if we had a real QB, that is probably true...I agree with that...what I don't agree with is that this is a good team with Beck or Grossman...we have been talking about this all offseason, we're we a great 3-1 team?...no...are we a great 3-2 team?...probably not. Here's the truth, we beat bad teams and lose to good ones, we sometimes beat ourselves...that is NOT a playoff team, especially one with the most critical position being manned by a question mark.
It's not as bad as Spurrier's Danny Wuerful man-crush, but it is eerily similar.
2 arrogant offensive minded coaches thinking they can take a QB that no one else wants and turn them into stars.
This game reveals too much Shanny influence over the FO, not getting a good QB. It also reflects the FO not addressing Oline depth as much as we all shouted for...no backup Guard?....reallly?
Those were the 2 big questions I had with the squad going into the season.
I am glad Grossman was pulled, but I don't expect much better from Beck.
I do think that the coaches need to get austin and the other WR's out there too.
Totally agree with you dude on your analysis, but talent wise I still say we are capable of a Wildcard if things are tweaked or situations are avoided, like going man on man coverage with a defensive backfield that isn't the best, or the worst in the NFL. A decent overall gameplan that makes strategic sense also would help.
Dirtbag59 10-16-2011, 08:16 PM Ill take the guy that doesn't look like a deer in the headlights and can get away from the rush any day...PS: he ain't no punk A** either..he saw the hole and ran the TD
But but, his starting record is the the only stat that matters. lol. John Beck is 0-1 this year as a QB, Rex is 3-2, ergo Rex > John.
Dirtbag59 10-16-2011, 08:17 PM 3rd perspective is Crompton!!!!!!!!!!
He's not the one that went to rehab for vicodin is he?
