yea it would have been nice to have spurrier's offense paired with the d we had this year

Are we talking about the same Spurrier? I don't remember his offense working in the grown-up's league.

How about that Marty coaching tree-Bill Cowher, Tony Dungy, Herman Edwards. Not bad

Way to go Marty. We probably would of been in the playoffs the third year in a row this year if he was still around. But I am happy with who we have I know he can take us to the next level-more Super Bowls.

Good for Marty! Shows what a little patience from the ownership through a couple bad seasons can do.

Come on guys, the Spurrier comparisons are last years news. The guy is a great college coach, but he didn't succeed in the NFL. He isn't with the Redskins anymore, so I could care less what he is doing. Yes, with this year's D, he probably could have done better, but HE was the one that refused to get NFL caliber assistants....and do you really think he would have been able to lure Williams here like Gibbs did? I don't.

Malcolm: The old ball coach made the most classy move ever. He could have ripped the players, ownership, etc. What did he do? Quietly step aside and stay in the area so his son could finish high school.

He's gotten a job with SC taking over for Lou Holtz. Check the stats - the "fool" Spurrier averaged more PPG than the appointed Offensive Genius known as Gibbs on this board. He didn't have the #2 (all year) #3 ending defense in the NFL at his back either.

Why is he ashamed? Because we had penelties? OH wait, same thing this year! Dropped balls? Oh wait... Ramsey took many less sacks, but also had very few TD passes.

That is excellent to hear after the year he had.

Congrats to Marty! He's a good coach and probably should have been given at least one more year with the Skins. It all works out in the end though...I'm much happier with Joe Gibbs coaching us anyway! Marty does deserve at least one season in the Super Bowl. Maybe next year the Chargers will meet us in the Super Bowl and he'll be given a chance to lose against us in the big game besides having to settle for a lose in the AFC Championship game. ;-)
