Dan Snyder is Big Pimpin'firstdown 10-06-2011, 12:03 PM You know the saying. "Big Boat Little Dingy". Chico23231 10-06-2011, 12:24 PM let the man live...people jump all over him for anything. He's help increase the value of the franchise since he bought it, let him sail around in a boat if it makes him feel good, just as long as he doesnt go back to advising football decisions Slingin Sammy 33 10-06-2011, 01:06 PM Not even sure it's about that. I think the big thing here is the Owner's plea during this whole lockout fiasco is that they needed the extra money to reinvest into future stadiums, facilities, etc. Which we all know is a load of horse shit. They just want more money to sponsor their already lavish lifestyle. He'll be writing it off as a business investment too.... just thought I'd get your blood pressure up a little more. mlmpetert 10-06-2011, 01:15 PM let the man live...people jump all over him for anything. He's help increase the value of the franchise since he bought it, let him sail around in a boat if it makes him feel good, just as long as he doesnt go back to advising football decisions Thats what i say. Good for him, he should be spending his money on lavish things just like rich people are supposed to do. And hopefully this shows that hes going to continue to be less involved in operations. Plus Id would be worried if I saw him on the Potomac in a old pos catamaran. But unfortunately I am unable to mention Dan without hating on him a little bit so…… I disagree with you when you say he has helped increase the value of the franchise since he bought it. A quick google search shows the average value of a NFL franchise in 2004 (as far back as I could quickly find) was 630 million while the Redskins were worth 1,034 million. The average NFL franchise value today is 952 while the Redskins are worth 1,560. So the Redskins franchise’s value has increased by 50.8% vs 51.2% for the rest of the league, which is right on par. The Redskins also used to be the most valuable franchise until a few years ago, they have now been surpassed by the Cowboys who’s value has increased 117% over the same period. Rounding out the top 5 most valuable NFL franchises and their increases, NE @ 85%; NYG @ 127% and NYJ @ 116%. Its good that we have a owner willing to spend money unlike Tampa or Cincy, but I think the new CBA will pretty much make that a moot point going forward. I hope Dan keeps having fun with his money like he should. In the meantime the thing I like about him the most is hating on him, I just cant help it….. He was dead last in the Forbes 400 list of richest Americans this year, well behind Jerry Jones: Dan Snyder - Forbes (http://www.forbes.com/profile/dan-snyder/) Although he did have a good quote: "I am absolutely desperate to win a Super Bowl." --REDSKINS OWNER DANIEL SNYDER firstdown 10-07-2011, 02:57 PM He'll be writing it off as a business investment too.... just thought I'd get your blood pressure up a little more. I don't think corps can write off yahts like they could back in the 80's. hagams 10-09-2011, 08:17 AM Damn, maybe he can raffle of some spots on a cruise at the stadium. I'd spend 20 bucks at a chance for a week on that beast. Maybe we can start having those parties like the ones the Vikings got in trouble for now. |
