Well...on the bright side, I guess she can take Italy off her bucket list?
She said that she was going back to Perugia on vacation because she "had a killer time" there.

Yeah i agree completley. I followed this case almost obsessively, it had that morbid curiousity factor with it, but i still hear new things every day about some of the crazy things that the italian justice system does....
She was apparantley interrogated without a translator even present, and at the time she barely could speak italian...
But the most telling fact is that one man confessed to the murder, Rudy Guede, and despite that they still tried to pin the crime on Amanda and Rafaelle....
They are losers over there. A backwards society with an archaic justice systemThis also makes me feel so terrible for the victim's family. The police and prosecution made them truly believe that Amanda and Rafaelle were directly involved in Meredith's death and now that the conviction was overturned they feel like justice hasn't been served, even though there is a still a man sitting in prison because he was convicted of her murder.
This guy also appealed but his conviction was upheld, although his sentence was reduced "because he was the only one of the three defendants to apologise to the Kercher family for his 'failure to come to her rescue'." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudy_Guede#Rudy_Guede) What a joke.

Check out this Rolling Stone article on the whole trial. It's really a joke. It's kind of lengthy but reveals some stuff not on TV every day.
