Since we are talking about that side of the ball.....

did any of you hear the Sports Junkies talking about statistics either yesterday or the day before? The Redskins right now have a #3 ranked defense. Obviously it will change some when we start with our hardest part of our schedule, but they said teams that have a top 8 defense get to the pale-offs 90% of the time. Teams with a top 5 defense get to the pale-offs 100% of the time.

They also pointed out that the Skins have 5 difficult games to play yet and 4 games which should be somewhat easy or atleast they should win. I'm not saying they are SB bound for those who will choose to twist my words, I'm simply saying they have a good chance to make the play-offs and hopefully next year.... year 3 for the coaching staff, they can make the big run at the SB. If the team does better then expected this year then awesome.

First off, when you start by saying the junkies said, your already wrong. Those guys are fun as hell to listen too, but they are so dumb when it comes to life. If they said what you just posted that they have the number 3 ranked D in the league, their wrong. It's 5th. We're third in scoring defense though if thats what they meant.

Yes they confused everyone with the whole subject but in the end we are a top 5 defense. Top 8 has a 90% chance of making the play offs. Having said that they also pointed out that the Skins are only 4 games in and a long road to go with some tough teams.

Yep December will be especially tough.

pale-offs?

Is that like a beer competition?

No, its like when the Redskins kill off all the pale faces.

Actually Kerrigan is making Rak better as he draws more respect and blocking to slow him down. AND Rak will give supreme effort to keep up with Kerrigan. They are a ferocious duo and Rak was a monster today...
Tremendous Defensive unit this year...Cannot wait to see what happens next offseason with aquisitions...FA's and Jarvis Jenkins coming back

I'm coming to the conclusion that Kerrigan is the better player of the two. They both have unbelievable motors, but Kerrigan seems to use his physical strength more effectively, while Rak tries to rely on speed to get around the edge, but rarely seems to beat good tackles. I heard a stat that boggles my mind - Rak only has half a sack against NFC East competition in his career. I would be very curious to see the result if Haslett had Orakpo and Kerrigan switch sides.

At this point I'm leaning towards Kerrigan being the better player. Orakpo is good, but not great. Kerrigan looks to me like he'll be great. Time will tell, but he's certainly headed in the right direction. Kid is a monster.

Everyone bitches about Orakpo this, Orakpo that. My question is: what is/where is Cofield?

Kerrackpo + DJ Gomes + Hall + Wilson + Otogwe + Coefield + Weild + Bowen + Jenkins = STRONG DEFENSE IN 2012 ..WE JUST NEED OFFENSE TO CATCH UP, SIMPLY PUT A FRANCHISE QB

Couldn't watch the game today, but as recently as two weeks ago I came to the same conclusion. Kerrigan plays the run so much better than Orakpo. Orakpo looks at the run as something he has to put up with in order to rush the passer, and Kerrigan takes both seriously. Plus Kerrigan is definitely more effective, he already has more sacks in his career against NFCE opponents than Orakpo does in his career.
