Plain and simple they can only carry 4 wrs a game maybe 5 if they figure a way to stretch another position.
Coles-lock(starter)
Garnder-lock(starter)
Thrash-lock(decent 3rd or 4th with major ST contributions)
Jacobs(decent 3rd or 4th with major ST contributions)
late in the year auditioned Brown for what I assume to be Morton's role(doesn't look good for Chad does it?)
and early in the eyar they kepy an extra lineman sicne they were having problems there.
McCants doesn't contribute on ST and apparently dogs it in practice. Gibbs is never gonna play a guy like that and take away a game day spot from someone else.
what makes you say gardner is a lock? havent we been talking about him possibly being replaced on just about every thread?

We are not the ones that dictate who stays and who goes, though. Joe Bugel emphatically stated that he expects 100% of the receivers to be back next year.

before that i asked why he is a "lock". in the washington post they have also hinted he may be gone. that is my point.
It'd be nice if we could find a guy who could block and catch from the line too.
Cooly is a rookie and blocking is much more coachable than catching. Both these young cats will be much better blockers next year after a year in the weight room and off season workouts.

I agree. Cooley should definitely develop into a fine blocker as he progresses at the NFL level, particularly with the coaching of Joe Bugel. Cooley has the attitude and work ethic to become a very well-rounded H-back. Royal really impressed me this year, and quite honestly, I was surprised when he was able to beat out Rasby and Kozlowski for the starting TE job. He really seems to be hitting his stride as an NFL player, and I look for him and Cooley to continue to develop into an excellent young TE/H-back tandem.

I think cooley will become a better blocker as he get's more experience, Royal has shown to be pretty productive in the red zone, but not a big blocker I agree a year in the weight room would reall benifit him in the blocking area.
How did everyone like the kid from USC Bird he showed some set of hand's on that catch down the middle for a TD against Oklahoma the other night, that catch was unbelievable, didn't follow him this year other than that game but he defiently made an impression with that one.

I really dont see Gardner coming back.. i guess he could maybe
revive himself, thats for the coaches to decide, but what we
saw of him this year is not what we want in our big across the middle
receiver.

Jacobs has some talent. Why call him a FL bozo?.....
I think he is referring to all of the promising U of Florida Wide recievers that have been busts in the NFL.
I am not sure if you are aware but the U.of Florida receivers have a bad reputation in the NFL, which is why Jacobs slipped in his draft. Alot of it is attributed to Spurriers system (when he was coach there) and that his receivers and QB's have great success in the NCAA but that success has not translated well to the NFL.
I personally think it is not the offensive systems but the big jump in talent of defenses in college to the pro's. Almost all of the NFl teams have great players on D. In college only a hand ful of teams are really that good.
Below is an article that touches the subject of Taylor and the U of F receivers bad rep.

What is your point? You said that basically because we've (and the WP hinting at it) been talking about him being gone that it must be a foregone conclusion. Did you read what Joe Bugel said?
