Remember when kids were in a uproar because we didn't select this guy?

Idk who was in an uproar because we didn't select Robert Quinn, but w/e. I don't think I was enthusiastic about Kerrigan's switch from DE to outside 'backer, but I liked the "strong motor" consistently used to describe him. Hard not to like that pick. We traded down and still got an impact player.

All of those who said he wasn't athletic enough, despite his satisfactory combine numbers, must eat your crow. Now.

congrats ryan. like yall didnt know too much about him, was happy enough to move back and get a position of need for the 3-4.

seems to be a good compliment to orakpo. i dont remember if i said this after we drafted him but i was hoping for more of a speed cover OLB b/c fletcher isnt always going to be here to run 40 yards down field with swift TEs but ill take a high motor, gets-it kinda OLB who is strong at the point of attack.

also like the fact ryan is doing a weekly radio appearance. its real cool to hear the players talk for awhile and not just answer a few game specific questions from the media. i like to hear how their house hunting is going, where they like to eat, how are they liking the area, if they have a baby on the way, parents coming in to visit etc.

He has adapted quicker than I thought he would and is one hell of a player. He deserves it. Quickly becoming my favorite player on the team. :food-smil

With Laron playing like he did? you gotta be kidding.

More like Cameron Jordan. But Kerrigan has something that is very difficult to scout: quick skill acquistion, aka "intelligence".

I been man-crushing on Kerrigan since game 1. He seems super-smart, in the parlance of the Gibbs era, and def has the power and agility to make big plays even when facing monster RTs.

On the larger point I gotta eat crow and say Shanny and Bruce did a hell of a job this draft. I never had much faith in Shanny's ability to draft consistent quality, especially on the defensive side. Kerrigan is awesome. Jenkins was a great pick and we're all hoping he comes back 100% from the injury. Helu is badass. And Nield is a legit DT...from bottom of the 7th!!!

Laron played great. I'm not sure of your point as it relates to who my favorite player is though.

I must admit Kerrigan has blown me away, along with every analyst ... this dude is not just a great draft pick .. he's a game changing player that is super special and we traded DOWN to get him .. Hail Bruce & Shanny ... Imagine Kerrackpo in 2 more years ???????
