hooskins 09-27-2011, 12:33 PM Hall is an ass. Talk smack but take blame. Sometimes he does, but really gonna put this on the coach? How about prevent a guy from getting 21 yards lol?
What happens if you play zone deep and they get a 15-20 completion down the middle and get a 4th down conversion. how many times have we seen that happen before? I am happy Haslett is fearless and blitzed. Our guys just didn't get there. Dhall still has to do better. And perhaps Haslett could have kept another guy on Dhalls man, but no need to go after your coach. We talk about having character guys all the time. Is calling out your coach good character? Really?
sandtrapjack 09-27-2011, 12:34 PM While this is true, I can still hate on Dallas, for the simple fact that the media love-fest for Romo is (once again) covering up for the fact that their team was really, really bad last night. (Anyone want odds that this wasn't a fluke?)
DeAngelo Hall has always been a mediocre player who makes a couple of highlight reel plays a year and gets burned just as frequently, if not more. The problem is all the yapping. We expunged guys like Haynesworth and Portis for similar attitudes. The main difference between those guys and Hall seems to be that Hall practices hard.
Maybe Fletcher and 30 will tell him to shut the hell up and let his play do the talking for the rest of the year. Haslett should bench his ass for calling out the coaches, though. Right or not, you just don't do that.
No argument, the Cowboys really were bad last night. But I'd be careful about stating that because they were just bad enough to win.

Finger pointing often occurs when teams suffer a loss. It's equal among both players and fans alike. This is what dirty thirty had to say in rebuttal to Hall.
"Safety LaRon Landry was asked about Haslett’s decision to send eight men rather than play prevent defense on third-and-21, and he said, “We were put in some positions to execute and didn’t do that, but we can’t go against the call, can’t finger point. Whatever’s called, we’re not the coaches, we just have to execute.”

It's all relative. The difference between DAL and WAS is that one of us is a team whose goals for this season were probably to win some games and get better on both sides of the ball, and the other team was expected to contend for the division title.
Or, to put it another way: a lost opportunity is always a bad thing. But I'll take a lost opportunity at the end of a game where the lesser team played up to the competition over a sloppy win from a more talented team that played down to theirs and barely escaped.
We'll find out next week who both of these teams are. If Dallas beats Detroit and we lose to St. Louis that will be one thing. If Detroit runs over the Boys and we put away the Rams, it will be quite another.

This is why most people (including a ton of Skins fans, myself included) hate Hall. This is all he needs to say. The entire world saw that blitz package and thought "oh wow, risky call" and nobody blames Hall. But he has to blurt out that it isn't his fault.
wilsowilso 09-27-2011, 12:54 PM If he's going to point a finger I wish he would have said something like "we would have won that game easy if Kyle Shanahan wasn't acting like a complete jackass all night. Rex Grossman can kiss my butt for playing so mediocre and if he comes near me right now I'm going to bitch slap him for wasting a strong defensive effort."

Hall went one on one and lost the battle. The whole rest of the D went after one guy and lost the battle. They failed to execute as a team. But, Hall needs to just STFU and play from this point on...
CrazyCanuck 09-27-2011, 01:29 PM F Hall and his BS, though can't really say I'm surprised. Maybe this will finally put an end to the ridiculous pro bowl talk. The guy is a #2 CB who occasionally makes a highlight play, that's it. Pro bowler my ass.
I was actually starting to like the guy as he seemed more focused on coverage and tackling this year, but this game set him back 5 steps. And of course the real problem is his BIG MOUTH. :cussing:
He should keep his mouth shut and take some pointers from our real #1 CB Josh Wilson.
Son Of Man 09-27-2011, 01:33 PM I wish Hall would keep quiet, though he does blame himself often. He's such a polarizing figure
This.
mlmdub130 09-27-2011, 01:43 PM I agree with the coach....Coach Mike Shanahan defended Haslett’s decision, saying “You could go back and second-guess everything. At the end of the day, we had a chance to have the sack there, and he did a good job scrambling, made a play, and hey, it happens. That’s the nature of this game. … Hey, it didn’t work, and Romo made a play.”
Had we gotten the sack there, second guessing would not have been an option. The tally would have been what a great job the defense did..... S**t happens.
Exactly. D hall needs to control his rants we know he runs his mouth and that will never change, but throwing your d coordinator under the bus is unacceptable. I really hope he gets reprimanded by the staff, possibly sit out the first drive or two vs the rams, calling out the coach publicly is completely unacceptable.
