Gibbs called the same running playing in time after time with Riggins and company, basically saying to the other team you have not showed me you can stop it so I will keep shoving it down your throat.

Same on Monday night the Skins had run 0 coverage 2 times with great success, so in their minds they were saying you Dallas have shown you can't stop it so we will do it again. Romo beat them on it on the third go around it happens but it was still the best bet choice at the time.

The D was definitely not the bad guy Monday night.Totally different scenario with the "Riggo Drill" and totally different results. Goes back to previous statements I've made about "situational playcalling".

And no, it was not the D's fault we lost, or even that call from Haslett. But I maintain it was a terrible defensive playcall. On 3rd and 21 and protecting a 1 point lead a high risk/high reward playcall....that you have called on two previous plays...isn't necessary and isn't the correct call. Why are you going to leave your 5'10" corner on an island against a 6'2", 220lb WR who is just as athletic or more athletic...when you don't need to? Why not have some help (zone or at a minimum C1)? What if Romo hits Bryant on a slant and Hall misses the tackle, same result.

Folks can defend the playcall until they're blue in the face, but it was the wrong call.

It's the wrong call because it didn't work. If it works, we think it was the best call. I think it's wrong to judge every play call by whether it works or doesn't work because their coaches on the other side who are getting paid to try and out smart you like you are them and then you have players who are executing the play calls.

Cowboys blocked perfectly on that. Tony did a good job rolling out. Hall did not execute by staying on top of the route. Dez caught the pass. Think there is a lot more factors.

If they only rushed four and Tony picked up the 1st, then everyone would be saying "why not send more people when it's 3rd and 21? Then they have to do a quick pass?"

Let's not forget their players on the field too.

A google news search for "snap count penalty" shows that Hasselbeck claims the Titans were doing it against him, and the only other reference I could find was Brian Billick doing a lot of bitching and moaning about the Jets doing it to the Ravens in '07.

If we were caught doing this in this decade, I couldn't find any evidence of it.

well that doesnt mean anything.I did a quick search and found this

According to Section 3 of the NFL rulebook, such tactics are illegal and can result in a 15-yard penalty. In 2003, Redskins linebacker Antonio Pierce was flagged for the violation when the Cowboys were attempting a field goal in a 21-14 victory.

Is that the game I remember and time just flew by,IDK,could be,I thought it had been more recent

I can tell you the Cowboys C isn't getting any sympathy from former players here.

Maybe he will stay as just an HBACK?

I mean for me the story on Monday wasn't so much CC vs. Davis. It's that with our starting FB (Young) out, instead of going to the proven veteran FB in Sellers we went to Cooley. Sellers has to be on the short list of potential cuts once Buchanon is ready to return

It is much easier to stop something if you know what is coming. If I showed my hand in poker, it's a loss for me unless my hand is a "perfect" one. If bin Laden told us where he was ****ing hiding, he would have been killed long time ago. The same ****ing shit applies to football. And don't tell me we have the "god-like" personnel that can run through people as if they didn't have mass, because they sure ****ing did.

Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on you. Fool me three times? **** you, I'm roasting your ass.

If it worked, I'm sure many would've called it a great playcall. I would've still said it was a bad playcall and we were fortunate to get away with it.

Cowboys blocked perfectly on that. Tony did a good job rolling out. Hall did not execute by staying on top of the route. Dez caught the pass. Think there is a lot more factors. The Cowturds blocked it perfrectly because they had seen it at least four other times in the game and on the two previous plays. Granted Hall could've played it better, but you're putting the guy on an island for no reason. The situation did not warrant or need the risk, plain and simple.

If they only rushed four and Tony picked up the 1st, then everyone would be saying "why not send more people when it's 3rd and 21? Then they have to do a quick pass?"If we only rushed four and played 7 in coverage the chance of them picking up the 3 & 21 would've been a lot less....but had they picked it up it would've likely been missed tackles, a blown coverage, or the Cowturd player just making a fantastic play. All those things would be mistakes made by the players, either physical or mental, or just a great play by Dallass and we'd have to live with it.

Let's not forget their players on the field too.Coaching in football is soooo much more important than any other sport. The coaches are as important as the players. The job of the coaches is to maximize the players' talents and minimize/hide their weaknesses. In this situation Haslett did a poor job. If Kerrigan had a coverage responsibility that is not maximizing his push rushing talent. Putting D. Hall on an island against a bigger, stronger, and very athletic WR is not minimizing his size disadvantage and his tendency to blow coverages, particularly in space.

As I mentioned earlier, I am by no means blaming the loss on Haslett and/or the D, or this specific play. The D played well in the first half, and above average in the second half. I put this loss on whatever was causing the poor footing for the Skins in the first half, a few OL breakdowns/losing individual battles, KS's playcalling particularly in the 2nd half, and Grossman being who he is, has been, and will continue to be.

Also want to call out red zone offense as well. Even though the Cowboys won the game exclusively by field goals, I still maintain you cannot consistently win games by settling for field goals. Good teams find ways to score touchdowns. We did that in week 1 but this is now two consecutive weeks our red zone offense has not done the job.

Hello we did score 1 more TD than the cowgirls. The difference was we blew a fg attempt with the fumbled hold.
