Last night Tony Romo helped an old lady across the street, rescued a kitten from a tree, saved a family of 4 from a burning building, cured cancer, erased the national deficit, and discovered the formula for cold fusion.

Somewhere in between, he managed to squeeze in a football game.

He is taking Tuesday off because his cape is at the cleaners.

The players/coaches that deserve to be smacked are Rexy, J. Brown, and Kyle Shanahan. Rexy showed us and the national exactly why Bears and Texans let him go. Rexy often make good plays AND bad plays. Unfortunately, this time Rexy's bad plays cost us the game.

Trent Williams handled Ware pretty well last night, although he did get away with few holding penalties. But Brown could not handle Ware nor Spencer. Rob Ryan was smart to attack Brown once it was evident that Brown could not handle Ware. We might have won the game if Brown could handle Ware and Spencer on his own.

Kyle called a vanilla game last night, although he did call good plays first several series. But the offense then stalled later in the game. Granted, some has to do with Rexy's bad plays. I wished Kyle would include Davis more in the game. Not to bash on Cooley but it seemed like Cooley could not sting Dallas D with his speed as Davis would. Cooley is one of my favorite Redskins players, but I actually wished that Davis was the primary target over Cooley last night. I really believed that Davis would hurt Dallas D more. Also, I was disappointed that Kyle turned away from running game, especially right after Hightower was running good. Hightower and Helu more than often were always a break-tackle away from hitting homeruns. Kyle have to keep feeding the ball to Hightower and Helu - they will end up making big runs eventually.

Despite what many people, I actually believe Haslett called good game last night. Our D held Cowgirls offense to field goals only. Cowgirls offense could not capitalize on Redskins turnovers - Redskins D held them pretty good. Orakpo's absence in 4th quarter is evident. Although Rob Jackson made a good play, but he could not apply pressure consistently as Orakpo did. I know, Haslett made a bad call on 3 down & 21 yards, but it was sorely based on Romo's play. Romo made a great play on that play. Like Shanny said in post game interview - it happens, sometimes we call right plays and sometimes we call bad plays. Whatever happens, we move on. We should feel good about our defense, now that Landry is back. It looks like our defense will be top 10 this year, which is big jump from last year.

Thank you. Haslett seems to be everybody's favorite whipping boy. I really don't know why that is. Who else caught the stat that the announcers mentioned last night: Redskins had the #1 defense in the NFL on 3rd down. That's a huge stat.

When was the last time Dallas was held without a TD? They broke Romo's 20-game streak of consecutive games with a TD pass.

But man, ONE busted coverage on 3rd and 21 when the defense did everything they possibly could to keep us in the game while the offense took half the night off and Jim Haslett is the antichrist.

Sports fans just cannot do without a villain -- even when he's on the team they root for. Crazy.

I think this team is WAY better than what I expected. The game last night was a tough, hard fought loss. I can't get too upset over anything, other than just the plain loss of an opportunity to be 3-0.
As far as the blitz on 3rd and 21, hey thats what we do. We are the #1 team in the NFL on 3rd down by blitzing and not giving the QB time to survey the field and find an open guy. I am not blaming the call at all. He made a play, Dez made a play and we didn't. We have been making plays all night, hell all year, we just didn't make that one. Again, to me it comes down to a missed field goal. I am really tired of finding ways to lose games by missed field goals, extra points.

Gano fought hard though coming back and nailing the 50 yarder, I give him credit for that. But we have to execute the FG opportunities, especially the short ones, making those 50+ yarders are bonuses.

Excellent point. Though they'll never say it, I'm sure that in their hearts, Cowboy fans know that the Redskins are no longer the pushovers of the NFC East, and that they are really tough to beat. Last season's opening loss at FedEX, a three point nail-biter in Dallas last year, and last night's two point sqeaker has proven that.

If nothing else, they know this contest is gonna be a dogfight from here on out.

You know what-- he could be the greatest player in NFL history, but he has such a goofy look that I can't ever take him seriously. Even when he winces in pain, he looks goofy -- like he's about to say just joking.

I didn't like the 3rd & 21 call, just seems too risky & I definitely don't think Hall should be out there 1 on 1 w/no safety help. Have to wonder if Haslett was thinking it might be 4 down territory if they could gain much of it back on that 3rd down?

That said, the D played a really good game, but why did Romo take no hits in the 1st half but they had a lot less yardage? I wonder if the blitzes backfired on more than just that one big play. I'd have to watch most of it again.

I actually thought Haslett called a good defensive game. That third and 21 was a bad call by him thought only because they were able to adjust to it after seeing it the previous 2 plays/looks. It was Haslett's gamble in addition to Hall's gamble with looking for the pick that made that play work against the redskins. It's not about playing less aggressive-- they just need to know when to take less risks and be less predictable about it.

He was probably going for the kill shot, hoping to force an INT. He's a blitz happy coordinator, and he's not the only one. As we all know, that philosophy will burn you sometimes, but pay really nice dividends when it comes together.

.. and if Hall played overtop of Bryant that play (and then play closer to him near the 1st down marker) -- Romo doesn't throw it, or throws it and Hall stops him before getting the first down.

My smackdown goes to Rex Grossmans speed and girly hands.

Good God I'd rather have Trent Williams w/ the ball scrambling out to the left then Grossman.

Grossman even was looking behind him and still couldnt stop from fumbling. He is so damn slow. If he gets touched he fumbles.

Grossman is who he is. If he starts all 16 games he is good for about 30 total turnovers counting Int's and fumbles.

That being said he should still get the start vs. the Rams. Too early to pull him.
