Kids have always been kids. criminals have always been criminals, there has always been poor, rich, smart, stupid etc... This is another interesting topic entirely. But just because a time period has changed doesnt mean we have, just a criteria of how we define and how the world has evolved around those born into it.

Our education has fallen behind, not because of women.

Maybe to their credit it is. When they are home and can spend more time with the kids doing homework etc... they probably are better prepared and do better in school. Just for the record I'm talking earlier years of a child when they need the guidance most. I understand some families need two incomes but I see alot of families that seem to just want more things while passing alot of the raising of their children off to strangers. You could also turn this around and say just having one of the parents home for the children would make a difference not just mom.

This is not a knock on two income families I understand how hard it is now days but I do think its has an affect on children. Some more so then others.

This appears to be the quote. I am curious why you think he is blaming women......
Or is it that you think both parents working outside the home is a good thing for kids?
We are not falling behind educationally to the rest of the world?
AND a host of other ills, probably accurately laid at the feet of no parents at home......

Bryant was participating in a Washington Post Live event focused on the importance of ensuring that children read well by the end of third grade. In response to a question about how America became "so mediocre" in regard to educational outcomes, he said: "I think both parents started working. The mom got in the work place."

Is it the fault of women? Of course not. Does it coincide with the advent of both parents working outside the home (or single parents that work)?
Probably.

i follow you and fd now. yeah the way your saying it makes sense and now I see what fd is getting at, but I dont think id still link a woman specifically with that task. Probably leaving out his last line little smarter. Quote of course was blown up, but still got to kinda get up to date on his thinking.

I think he is probably correct....although his apparent lack of PC skills and...maybe some context problems will cost him some...skin in the media

**** it. Who needs warrants. Let's just get rid of habeas corpus and warrants and let the government do what they want.

My "beloved" governor could look at education funding cuts which he championed as a reason for educational decline...but why do that when you can just blame women?

He is the same person who, when a referendum to grant personhood to fertilized eggs was shot down, compared those who voted against the referendum with Satan. Like many Republicans, he is no friend of women.

Our government pretty much condones and promotes criminal activity. What it doesn't like and doesn't want is people exposing crimes.

IRS chief: Inappropriate screening was broad (http://news.yahoo.com/irs-chief-inappropriate-screening-broad-193046792.html)

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Internal Revenue Service's screening of groups seeking tax-exempt status was broader and lasted longer than has been previously disclosed, the new head of the agency said Monday.

An internal IRS document obtained by The Associated Press said that besides "tea party," lists used by screeners to pick groups for close examination also included the terms "Israel," ''Progressive" and "Occupy." The document said an investigation into why specific terms were included was still underway.

In a conference call with reporters, Danny Werfel said that after becoming acting IRS chief last month, he discovered wide-ranging and improper terms on the lists and said screeners were still using them. He did not specify what terms were on the lists, but said he suspended the use of all such lists immediately.

"There was a wide-ranging set of categories and cases that spanned a broad spectrum" on the lists, Werfel said. He added that his aides found those lists contained "inappropriate criteria that was in use."

Next up: Government lies to its people. Shock, horror......
