Why would you trade Cooley? We run A LOT of two TE sets now.. Why not have both and create double mismatches in 2wr/2te sets?

CC isn't going anywhere. No sense in even discussing it.

You really can't say this enough. The team didn't get rattled when they fell behind, they didn't lose focus and commit costly penalties in the red zone like they did last year. And Shanny and Kyle used Helu brilliantly.

I have to say Has and his staff was throwing some stuff at Kolb. After Fitz 7 catches, the next leading receiver had 2 receptions. Not bad.

I don't understand the mentality that says we need a Pro-Bowler at every position. If this year's draft is any indication, we'll be picking up more studs next year.

Get it...studs.

Right! Why should we create on-field advantages? What have those ever done for us?

As much as I love Cooley, I'd have to be seriously high to think a team would offer a Pro Bowl caliber guard that fits Shanny's scheme for him, even if he was fully healthy.

I won't pretend I can evaluate talent well enough to determine which players fit Shanny's scheme. That said while I don't see us getting a guy without risks, I could easily see us getting a guy with baggage similar to what cooley has a boarder line pro bowl player with injury problems that could still produce in the right situation. A guy similar to Davin Joseph. Not saying we would get him exactly, but I could see Cooley returning some value. Especially to a team that is looking to horde some cash as cooley would drive some merchandise sales.

Fred Davis has had two really good games -- that doesn't mean we are ready to get rid of Cooley, guy has a manageable salary and is a threat at the TE position. We have so little depth at so many positions, why would be reduce it?

Not trying to disagree with your point here, because I agree with it, but these first two games haven't been the first time Davis has stepped up when given the opportunity. He filled in fine for Cooley when Cooley had the injury problems in 2009. I think right now he's showing that he's ready to step up and play a big time role for us, and Cooley is definitely no slouch when healthy either. I hope we have the both of them for at least a couple more years, although I do agree Davis is showing he's worthy of being our #1 at this point.

I don't think anyone is talking about doing an inseason trade. If we could swing something in the offseason while also grabbing another TE to develop in the draft we would have to consider it.
