He is a class individual and it is a shame it couldn't work out here. Here is a good article from the Boston area if you want to read it:
Andre Carter finds what he wanted with Pats - BostonHerald.com (http://bostonherald.com/sports/football/patriots/view.bg?articleid=1366189&format=&page=1&listingType=pats#articleFull)
“There were just times I felt uncomfortable (as a linebacker),” said Carter, whose team went from a 4-3 scheme to a 3-4.
Carter was due a $4.1 million option bonus last offseason, which he figured was unlikely to be paid. The sides could have hammered out a new deal. Instead, Poston met with Redskins general manager Bruce Allen to set him free.
“The first thing I asked (Allen) was, ‘What were your future plans. We would really like to ask for a release,’ ” said Poston. “Sometimes, if the player indicates that he wants to go in a different direction, the team might allow him to do that. Bruce Allen said, ‘If (Carter) feels like that’s what he wants to do, we’ll go ahead and release him.’ ”
Carter’s release happened on March 1.
Through a Redskins spokesman, Allen said recollections from the Carter camp are “true.” He also described the parting as “mutual.” The respect from both sides was clear.
Nice to see our organization is treating the good guys with respect, even if they don't fit here any more.
Good luck AC
