Casey Rabach could have used a thread like this instead of the TON of hate he received for his retirement party. :(
The only players that get love when they retire are players that actually contributed over a period of several years. Rabach's leaving was about 3 years overdue, so our lasting memory of him will be how he was overmatched physically. Mentally he was smart, but mental smarts only get you so far in this league.

wait what?
Rabach retired?
and Rabach was a case of, no longer good and getting pushed around. Carter was good but didn't fit the system.
Carter retired?
Rabach was used up and he deserved to be dumped on....after years are service to the skins? That's rich! :smashfrea

What about CP? The unfounded man-love for him continues into forced retirement with fans STILL filling my ear with "but he can still block!"

Leave Arlington alone.....It's not easy having an ego that is so huge that you have to have your own zip-code.

There are more - - lots more - - people to care about in the universe than the 53 players on the Redskins' roster at any given moment. That's why...

Sarcasm gets by you a little easily now doesn't it?
@polywog: Portis contributed way more than rabach did while he was here.

Really? I didn't notice that over the last few years when he contributed almost nothing.
Rabach's leaving was about 3 years overdue
It's like we are talking about the same guy!
Real reason: people are enamored with 'stars'.

You're the one that mentioned Rabach and a retirement party. I'm confused now.
and no Rabach was not more valuable to the Redskins in the last three years than CP, save for last year.

Since Portice came to the Skins, he has averaged about 4.1 ypc. Incredibly pedestrian.
In 2009 CP rushed for a grand total of 494 yds and 1 TD.

Since Portis came to the Redskins, he had Casey Rabach blocking for him. There you go.
He's second all times as a Redskins rusher, and he holds the single season rushing record. You'd think that would mean something.
