He is a pretty good talent. I definitely thought he would be a dud. He is a great personality and has the game on the field to back.
And he has awesome pearly whites. Weird that I notice that? Perhaps I was a dentist in a past life.

I am from Charlotte and getting caught up in the Cam Newton phenom. He is a pleasant surprise. Now waiting for Tebow!! Go Tebow!!! I am begining to think these so called pro system college QBs are being hurt by running a pro style offense in college. The difference in speed between college and the pros makes their so-called pro style offense experience a moot point.

That's actually not a bad point, I still think college players who play in pro style offenses in college have a better chance to succeed in the NFL....but playing in a pro style in college is so different from the pros because of the speed that maybe its not that big of an advantage.

The spread offense is beginning to show up in the NFL now, so the "pro style" offense is not necessarily a requirement any more.
The Lions are a team who runs it very well at the pro level.

I was just thinking about Brady Quinn and Claussen. They just do not have the talent. They can read defenses and they know what they want to do, but their bodies just can't get it done.

I'd say it's the other way around. Lots of guys have the physical talent, but it's their mental makeups that hold them back. You have to be able to process a lot of info very quickly and make the correct decisions.

I agree, I just consider that "mental make up" to be a talent. One of the talents needed. There are physical talents and mental talents.

Quinn and Clausen both have the physical talents to get it done as far as arm, size, strength, etc. But the mental part of their game doesn't appear to be there.
