Well in all actuality probably not, a game is when two teams show up and battle it out. Unfortunately only one team is going to show up today leaving everyone to wonder...... where were the Giants?

Just kidding.lol. I just hope it's a good game.

The whole lawsuit was Danny flagrantly stomping his feet because he got straight up roasted. Glad he did the smart thing and dropped this nonsense.

I spoke with two lawyers and a law-school professor about this action over the past several months. All three had this assessment of the case:

1. The case would probably have gone to trial because it would not have run afoul of DC's "SLAPP Law". [Google "SLAPP" for a much better explanation than I can give you here if you care enough about what it is...]

2. At trial, all three folks said that Snyder had virtually no chance to prevail because the legal standard for defamation/slander/libel as it pertains to public figures is:

a. difficult to prove in any case - - and - -

b. not even close to being met in this case.

Remember, I am NOT an attorney and have never spent a moment of my life in law school but these are the condensed thoughts of three folks who have passed the bar exams in the DC/No. Virginia area and one of whom teaches law locally.

Good to have all this in the rear-view mirror ... UNLESS ...

Dave McKenna writes "another article" sometime soon.

SC, knowing that he would have likely lost the case really makes me wish he went foward with the lawsuit. For those that didnt read the link, the 2 important things:

This week Snyder in an interview with the New York Times Magazine said that he actually never read the article.

to echo Saden and to add my own words i just have to say wow what a complete jackass

and

“The lawsuit was pursued as a means to correct the public record following several critical factual misstatements in the Washington City Paper article,” Wyllie said. “In the course of the defendants’ recently filed pleadings and statements in this matter, the Washington City Paper and its writer have admitted that certain assertions contained in the article that are the subject of the lawsuit were, in fact, unintended by the defendants to be read literally as true. Therefore, we see nothing further to be gained at this time through continuing the lawsuit. We prefer to focus on the coming football season and the business at hand. We remain committed to assisting with responsible reportage of the Team and the many people involved in our organization, including Dan Snyder, and the principle that the truth and the facts matter in responsible journalism has been vindicated.”

Really, theyre just realizing that now??? What happened to demanding a written apology and running a correction of the facts?

The silver lining is even though this cost the City Paper some money this had to be good for their business and the career of McKenna. And I know he will prove me wrong but hopefully this will help shut Snyder up for a while....
