Not sleeping scks. Went to bed at 9 dead tired, woke up at 12 to a mix of thunder lightning and heavy rain. Tried to go back to bed but couldn't get back to sleep and now have to be up at 530 for work and another long ass day. Even my 3 hours of sleep was lousy because I woke up briefly 2x's then too. F this.

I had insomnia but luckily I was able to sleep it off.

More seriously, sorry guys. Insomnia really sucks. You lay there and tell yourself that you REALLY need to sleep but that thought itself keeps you up.

If anyone that is suffering from insomnia is welcome to come to my house and stay up with my 1 month old.
I hate losing sleep I can go without a lot of things but lack of sleep is not one of them. I am not a big sleeper but I need at least 6-7 hours a night of good sleep without it I struggle.
My toddler son is a poor sleeper (night terrors) too so the past 3 years i have missed a lot of sleep, sucks.
Back in the day when I worked in hotels my director of sales was a true insomniac. The guy read at least 5 novels a week to kill the time. Said he never really felt tired and usually would have one night a week where he slept five hours. It amazed me how he could still function.

Must be genetic. I have tried numerous things:
- altering stayed up longer to get 4 good hours of sleep;
- entirely eliminating caffiene from my diet;
- knowing I would wake up at 2:00 a.m., going to bed earlier and try to be productive for a couple hours and "nap" again at 4:00 a.m.;
- staying in bed and meditating when I wake up at 2:00 a.m.;
- getting up and reading when I wake up at 2:00 a.m.;
- eliminating naps on weekends;
- being sure to nap on weekends.
No matter what I try, I routinely wake up somewhere between 2-4 in the morning to tired to do anything but unable to sleep. Of course, I am exhasted and sleepy at about 5:30, but guess what? that's when the alarm rings.
I agree, F' insomnia.

BTW- Anyone complaining about lack of sleep that is in college needs to get over it. College life is so easy. Really you are in the pre-school part of starting real life. Wait until you have a job (career one) and kids then you will be at full steam.

Bro I hear ya. For some reason I find it hard to fall asleep before 4 am, which really sucks on days I gotta get up early. I've tried doing lots of things including pulling all nighters in the hopes it'll set me straight, but what happens is I'll be really tired throughout the day, then afternoon/evening comes n it's like I feel fine again to wait until 4 am to go to bed. Shit sucks.

The opposite is true for me. College was much more difficult/stressful than work. I went through a BS and MS, and have now worked for 6 years full time. I'll take work over school any day.
Sorry to hear you folks have a hard time sleeping. I have never had that problem, fortunately. I go to sleep literally about 30 seconds after my head hits the pillow, and usually don't wake up til the alarm sounds.
