I think he goes the season. We should be pushing for a playoff spot even with a difficult last 5 games. Jets, pats, giants, Vikings, and eagles.
How Many Regular Season Games Will Rex Grossman StartVegasSkinsFan 09-06-2011, 06:30 PM I think he goes the season. We should be pushing for a playoff spot even with a difficult last 5 games. Chico23231 09-06-2011, 09:36 PM I think alot of people not counting on the fact that Rex can bench himself pretty easily. if we go into the early break playing poorly on offense, I bet Shanny and Kyle revisit the idea of Beck starting after the bye. vallin21 09-06-2011, 10:09 PM 11 games Longtimefan 09-06-2011, 10:16 PM I'm hoping he stays healthy and starts all sixteen. The only way he won't is.....injury or poor performance that forces the coaches hand. Shanahan has made his decision now he must stick by it. SkinzWin 09-06-2011, 10:20 PM 19 games. Book it now. edit: BOOM goes the dynamite! GMScud 09-06-2011, 10:26 PM Barring injury Rex is the guy for this season. I could see Beck playing if the team is tanking, but that's it. Rex will stay solid enough to hold the job. I tend to agree. I think the whole John Beck thing is pretty silly. The Shanny's endorse him as a player (but never said he was a starter), then Beck starts talking to the media like he's the guy, and at the end of the day, Grossman beats him out like we all should have expected. If Rex stays healthy (which could be hampered by our average at best O-line and lack of O-line depth), he'll start all year. You know what could happen though- it could be a repeat of 2010 with Rex in the McNabb role, albeit with less controversy. Rex's play is up and down, we're out of the playoffs, and Beck gets a 3 or 4 game test drive to see what we have... MTK 09-06-2011, 10:30 PM I tend to agree. I think they legitimately believe in Beck, perhaps with a full offseason things would have been different. BigHairedAristocrat 09-06-2011, 10:55 PM I think he'll start every game he's healthy until a long term replacement we draft is ready to take over GTripp0012 09-06-2011, 10:59 PM I'm playing the percentages and saying 1-5. I have no idea what is going to happen at the QB position, but when you balance the risk of injury with John Beck lurking, there's too much that can go wrong. By far the best chance of a burgundy and goal postseason is that Rex hits the ground with a 3 TD day against New York and holds the job most of the season starting 13+ games and relegating Beck to second team and spot start duty all year. This is a best case outcome: Rex plays well and Rex plays often. But too much can go wrong that results in Rex starting 5 or fewer games. The QB debate isn't over, even though I just don't see anyway I'm sitting at the end of the year wondering why I never believed in John Beck. |
