by the way, can we please stop talking about "developing" beck like he's some 22 year old rookie? he's 30, and in 2 years after he'd had time to sorta figure things out, he'd be 32. grossman is the same age and has a lot more experience, and if i'm throwing away two years to watch a QB develop, it better be andrew luck or someone that hasn't already blown two shots as is about to be on the wrong side of 30. It's not like he came in and threw 14 TDs as the peerless paragon of perfected passing :P

Rex is just better folks, I was all for Beck but after watching the last few games he's just not that good of a passer plain and simple. His arm is avg at best and his sidearm stuff is just ugly. Rex will be ok for us but he's not taking this team that far either IMO

Ah, so you knew from the time that Grossman stepped on the field last year that nothing Beck ever did would make him start over Grossman. Gotcha. So you're just a Beck hatter, and that's your reasoning for being right. Cool.

For the record, I'm not in either qb's camp. I'm in the "whoever gets us the best shot to win" camp.

Exactly!

That Guy and Okie have it right. I am not a big Grossman guy, but to have all these guys in here actually think a 30 year old journeyman QB is going to turn into an All Pro at some point is just like if I thought if we got Gus back he would do the same. At least Gus did make the Pro Bowl once, so Beck isn't even as Good as Gus was at 30.

must say im surprised. grossman is the "safer" choice, but beck has a higher ceiling/potential in this offense. that said, i will defer to the coaches' wisdom on this subject.

Shanahan confirms Grossman is Redskins’ starter | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/09/05/shanahan-confirms-grossman-is-redskins-starter/)

That makes it official PFT printed it.

Would you mind tossing out a few names you would like to the Skins develop? Kellen Clemmons? Jason Campbell? Colt Brennan had his shot, he just wasn't good enough.

Brennan never had a fair shot. He played better than any skins QB in preseason. granted i know its just preseason but he showed i lot I felt.

Everybody but washington knew that Campbell was not an NFL starter and soon Oakland will know it too. I could never understand for the life of me that they kept Campbell in here for years no matter how bad he played, it's like they were afraid to turn to other QB's, which proved that the Owner was making the decisions then and not the coach.

I think JC has proven he can start in this league. It's time to get over it.

Colt isn't even a backup in this league, and that's a fact.

I'd rather have Rex than Jason IMHO.. I always liked Campbell and yes he's a solid QB but he's the same ev game.. 200 yds and 1TD 1INT. Rex showed he can get hot and sling it all over the field.. Colt was garbo folks god bless him recovering from that wreck and all but he was never a legit option at QB.. Now Chase Daniel may have been
