Did you not read anything above? It's obvious you didn't. You act like he sat himself out because he had a hangnail. Some of you guys are rediculious. In fact, stories are coming out now that he was pressured to play when he probably shouldn't have.
Taylor Jacobs' problems started when an opposing player landed on him as a play was ending. Not saying he didn't get hurt, but my god, he hardly saw any playing time when he was here! I mean, what, he played maybe 3-4 downs during his 4 year stint with us? Kelly wasn't a putz that sat out for a hangnail or stubbed toe, but geez, the guy couldn't stay in shape even when he wasn't on the field? When I played in HS I played with twisted ankles, jammed fingers, etc, and I stayed in because I wanted to play. I am sure Malcolm was banged up, but you need to suck it up if you want to make it in the NFL. With some of the above posts, it looks like he shouldn't have been drafted though.

Kelly played all 16 games just two years ago. And probably would have played some games last year if NFL IR rules didn't force him to miss the entire season.

I am referring to Taylor Jacobs as playing only a handful of downs for us. Kelly did show some promise at one point, but can't stay healthy. Maybe the intensity of playing Big 12 football wore him out, but damn, that is awfully young to be injury prone. I hope he actually received a real degree from Oklahoma, because he is going to need it soon.

I read all of the posts, one guy agrees with me and there are some quotes that say we shouldn't have drafted him. I can't speak to if we should have drafted him or not, I was excited about the pick at the time. I can speak to the fact that he hasn't played much and seems to have an attitude that it doesn't matter. It could be a defense mechanism, however it comes across to me as having no heart.

I think he will be ok. Some of his quotes which seem to indicate to some folks that he has no desire actually indicate, from a different point of view, that he is a level-headed, intelligent adult who realizes that he needs a backup plan because he won't play football forever even in the best-case scenario.

If it didn't matter to MK, he wouldn't have been the first one in and last one out day after day during last season even knowing he couldn't suit up. He wouldn't have requested the coaches stay with him for extra film sessions, or worked early mornings and late nights practicing running routes with our veteran receivers giving pointers.

I don't live in the area anymore so it's possible I missed it. The majority of the articles that I've read about him and his work ethic would lead me to a different opinion.

I'm calling bullshit on this. Show me some articles that puts his work ethic in question. I think you have Kelly mixed up for Devin Thomas.

Jason Reid is right here on Malcolm being Dan's pick. I remember hearing Vinny say that he wanted to pick Jerod Mayo at 21, but when NE got him at 10 he decided to trade down.
