Bring on Matt Gutierrez!

As far as evaluating Beck, it's like Gruden said. He's going to be evaluated on all his game reps and practice reps, so that drive against 2nd teamers is only going to factor in the equation so much. I'm leaning towards Beck because as has been mentioned, athletically he offers more than Grossman. I do feel more comfortable knowing we will have a good backup either way though.

Agreed.. Who cares who starts.. Both guys look good, and both will probably play this year. Im so glad i don't have to watch #5 throw balls in the dirt this year.

Beck starts 9/11 we lose the game. All you have to do is bring tremendous pressure and the guy is going to throw stupid INTs. Give him different looks, different blitz packages and he is good for 2-3 INTs. This guy has never cracked 3rd string in his life. Again how many games does Rex Grossman have as a starting QB in the NFL? How many starting in playoff games? Beck looks solid against 2nd teamers and Gruden uses the hype machine to have this guy starting? Sorry, unless Rex gets hurt or really has a crappy season and gets benched, Beck will be a 3rd stringer in 2012, if we resign Rex and draft a QB. Beck hasn't cracked the 3rd string at any of his previous gigs, when he should have easily. He shows potential, but then again, it is agianst backups.

Grossman also looked mediocre against Indy's backups, it's the good Rex/bad Rex syndrome.

True,I won't be upset with either pick but I lean towards Rex
Like I said I wouldnt be opposed to them carrying this same routine for reg season

Rex is just as capable of tossing dumb picks, and fumbling. Remember last year at all?

How did Beck never crack 3rd string when he started 4 games as a rook?

My whole deal is...if MS really liked Beck, he should've made him the starter from day one or at least start him this whole game. Instead he left it up to chance and Grossman got most of the reps against the Ravens first-team.

Your argument against beck can be applied against Grossman to an even greater extent.
