you grew up there? thats awesome. Questionable choice in the basement though.
Nothing wrong with a basement but you need to be aware of rising water.

WELL...the good news is it is still a lower level CAT 2. If it stays there that's good. Should not be a killer storm at that level.
If you can, board up the windows.....at least tape.
Basically will make a Hell of a mess....trees down..No power......water depending if your on city or well. If you have a pool, it makes a real nice water resource to flush toilets and it's ok to use as wash water as well.
You can also fill the bath tubs for water to use.
If you have a Gen set, even a small one will keep the fridge and freezer cold a run some fans (Major big deal with no AC).....microwave...toaster oven.
Get your camping stuff out so you can cook
NOW is a great excuse to but a new chainsaw.
Snakes and other critters look for high ground in events like this. watch out
GOOD LUCK.....be safe
AN Don't do any stupid drunken shit during the storm..it'll cost you
Awww, man. I miss living in Florida. What year was that when the state got hit with like 4 major hurricanes in one season? I think '04 or '05? We had some epic hurricane parties that year. I remember standing on my friend's deck in 60mph sustained wind screaming "that's all you got???" LOL.
But joking aside, it's going to be an epic weekend of weather, and I hope everyone stays safe.

I started to post what I keep on hand (for reference) during H Season (and it ain't over yet)
10 sheets plywood, 1500 sq/ft Tarps, a mile of rope. Food, water and gas for 10 days 25 kw Gen set........then I started to get embarrassed......
Ahhh the joys of living in Fl during Hurricane season.
OH and by the way if you even might get flooded, think about leaving before the traffic or road conditions preclude you from doing so...
I met this dude one time after a Hurricane in Houston walking down the road adjacent to a heavily flooded area. I stopped to see if he was ok and he told me had to spend the night in his attic (he waited to late to leave) as the lower floor had 6 feet of water in and during the night, dozens of snakes had invaded the attic looking for high ground and he had to swim out during the storm about 1/2 mile to where I found him......Yeeeooow!

Your supply list does not look that crazy. Hell I went and got my 2 5 gallon tanks filled today and I don't even have a generator. I have 3 cases of water, 3 bottles of propane, plenty of ice, and lots of cold beer.
You can forgo many things, but I was indeed proud to see......"lots of cold beer"
