F Hurricanes...not the football team (but f them too)Ruhskins 08-25-2011, 11:15 PM Man, I gotta keep an eye out on this...otherwise I'm heading out west to Frederick (MD). JoeRedskin 08-25-2011, 11:32 PM On the Eastern Shore of Maryland tonight. Heading back home tomorrow to batten down the hatches. Sucks. Sucks. Sucks. We got 4 days of our 7 day Outter Banks vacation. Absolutely hated leaving. On top of that the sucker is gonna end up chasing me home and, with my luck, come right up the Chesapeake Bay, over Baltimore and probably have the eye go right over my house. Did I say it sucks? Just wanted to be clear. For those of you in it or around it - Keep safe! Hurricanes are nothing to f*** with. Ruhskins 08-26-2011, 12:04 AM On the Eastern Shore of Maryland tonight. A buddy of mine was in the Dominican Republic, and was stuck there b/c of the Hurricane...now he flies up to DC only to find that Irene is coming this way. I hope Irene stays at sea. mooby 08-26-2011, 12:59 AM I just went to the grocery store and got my hurricane shopping done so I can avoid the crowds. I'd recommend doing that early as well, you don't want to be the last guy in when all the bread, milk, safety gear, generators, etc. all run out of stock. Be safe and don't underestimate it guys, you never know what will happen. It's like the politicians say (This is the only time I will put stock into what a politician says lol), expect the worst and hope for the best. I hope everybody comes through this okay, I can't remember the last time I expected a hurricane of this magnitude to come through NoVa like this. Good times. Sorry to hear your vacation got blown up, get home safe and be safe during the storm. Latest tracks look not so bad for B-more, but Jersey, NY, Boston are in big trouble if Irene keeps its strength after hitting NC & us. mredskins 08-26-2011, 08:17 AM Man, I gotta keep an eye out on this...otherwise I'm heading out west to Frederick (MD). I don't think yo uare any safer or less safe in Columbia vs. Fredrick. The thing is bigger then Texas. JoeRedskin 08-26-2011, 08:48 AM Where'd you stay in OBX? First time we stayed north of Hatteras Island in a while. We like it up here 'cause it's close to lots of things for the kids. Son was really bummed he didn't get to the NC Aquarium. Cool place. Lotus 08-26-2011, 09:33 AM You folks in Irene's path: respect the storm and stay safe! Hog1 08-26-2011, 09:41 AM WELL...the good news is it is still a lower level CAT 2. If it stays there that's good. Should not be a killer storm at that level. If you can, board up the windows.....at least tape. Basically will make a Hell of a mess....trees down..No power......water depending if your on city or well. If you have a pool, it makes a real nice water resource to flush toilets and it's ok to use as wash water as well. You can also fill the bath tubs for water to use. If you have a Gen set, even a small one will keep the fridge and freezer cold a run some fans (Major big deal with no AC).....microwave...toaster oven. Get your camping stuff out so you can cook NOW is a great excuse to but a new chainsaw. Snakes and other critters look for high ground in events like this. watch out GOOD LUCK.....be safe AN Don't do any stupid drunken shit during the storm..it'll cost you Lotus 08-26-2011, 09:46 AM ^ good hurricane advice Hog1 |
