Fellas, fellas, face it we are razor thin at QB this season. Anybody thinking Beck is going to be a lucky pickup at this point is simply delusional. Our entire season depends on Rex and our offensive line staying healthy. Neither QB has shown anything to make me feel we are a playoff contender or even better than #3 in the NFC East, which is a shame since we are stacked with young talent. You want a blunt, honest assesment about Beck, just go to NFL.com fantasy and see what they have written about his performance last night.

At this point if we could trade even for Drew Stanton of the Lions I would be happy. Even he shows more promise than our two guys. I think MS and BA have done just about everything right, but I have to think they are wishing things didn't go down with Donovan as they. Going from 2 SB Qbs to only one and two bums isn't an upgrade.

I'm just curious, who would you guys rather have at this point, Beck or Kerry Collins?

It wouldn't matter with that choice, might as well just flip a coin to get your starter. The quandry we are in almost makes you wish we still had JC.

Yes.. Jason "I cant read coverages" Campbell
I'll pass.. I would like to make a move and trade Stallworth to Carolina for Klausen
Funny, but not hard to believe some are down on Beck after last night. The last preseason game is as worthless as they come.

The mobility factor is a pretty big one IMO. Rex has none, Beck has a lot.
With Beck in there they can run the bootleg play-action stuff and the Giants will actually have to respect it. It also helps sell the stretch running game too.
Rex is a statue in the pocket, Beck adds a lot more athleticism and can make plays outside of the pocket on the run.
I agree here. But on 3-10 no one looking for a bootleg. I think Grossman starts week one because at this point he's better in the pocket. But Beck has been much better than I thought.

Grossman is the better qb, but Beck will be the starter i would guess.
All off-season the Shanahans have been talking about how great Beck was in college, how highly they had him ranked coming out of college, and how they think hes a starting caliber qb. I dont really remember them saying anything about Grossman besides he's a vet and we know what he brings.

I still contend they should be the first NFL team to have a legitimate QB time share like teams do at RB. Keep 'em guessing. They won't know what to do.

I think like Mark Schlereth said on ESPN. Shanahan likes being right, and he's gonna do everything he can to show the world he was right about John Beck.
