Not sure I really buy the college crowds are more educated argument either. Has anyone ever tailgated at a college game?? Tons of drinking going on.

I didn't really understand what Jed York meant about the preseason fans vs. regular season fans

Playboy ranks ECU the fifth-best party school in U.S. - Triangle Business Journal (http://www.bizjournals.com/triangle/stories/2010/04/12/daily64.html)

Playboy magazine agrees with what many have been saying for years: No school in the Carolinas parties harder than East Carolina University East Carolina University Latest from The Business Journals List - Top 5 N.C. MBA ProgramsList - Top 5 N.C. MBA ProgramsHelp for Postpartum Follow this company .

ECU claims the No. 5 ranking on Playboy's list of the top 10 party schools in the United States. No other colleges or universities in the Carolinas made the list.

Located in Greenville, dubbed G-Vegas by many of the locals, ECU has a strong alumni presence in the Raleigh-Durham area.

I assure you that I've been to many college games (even other venues) and have even held season tickets to the pirates.

ps. holy shit a earthquake happened while I was writing this.

I have been to plenty of pro games and Penn State and MD College games. IMO a big difference, the drinking is there at both places the threat of violence is greater at Pro games.

Anytime you get large gatherings of drunk males together, there is potential for trouble. I'm really not buying the difference between pro and college. There are morons in every walk of life.

But I don't think it really has to do with education level.

I guess I didn't make my point clear and I got cut off by the earthquake.

Yes, I know there is tons of drinking at college game tailgating. (hence why I posted what I did about the school I attended and work for) I still have yet to see the type of crap that's happened in NFL stadiums happen here. I personally think it's a different class of crowd when it all boils down. I was making a crack about education difference though. That said, most of the people that attend those college games are indeed students or alumni. That would be a good thing to find out. The average education level of college football attendees compared to pro football attendees. Smoot, get your boys on this scooby doo mystery! ;)

What is the average time that the tailgating lots are open on game days in NFL? 5 hours? Our main lots only open 3 hours before the game. Some of the smaller lots ran by locals/schools open earlier.
