339.95 is actually reasonable for not having to go to direct TV and getting all of the Redskins games!!!!

Player_HTTR 08-18-2011, 09:59 AM For subscribers I guess if you have a TV without a receiver it makes sense. An extra reciever is only $5/month. Hell, I have had a reciever waiting on a TV for months now. I know everyones situation is not mine, but I really see this only being beneficial to a handful of people. Enough of being a Debbie Downer, I hope somone finds the service to be useful. @Jontrem-I guess I see that point for a non-sub. Not having to break apart a bundle or your contract with your current provider and being able to get the ticket makes sense. I really wanted this to be cooler for ME I guess. I get the thanks for being a loyal customer since 07 but a customer since last month gets the Ticket and all movie channels for a year for free crap just irks me. They have me where they want me and they know it. skinsguy 08-18-2011, 10:11 AM I don't see any benefit to this. You still have to shell out a king's ransom for the Sunday Ticket, then they make you pay out an extra $50 just to play it on your PS3? And then, I suppose it's streaming through your internet hook of your PS3, which means that HD picture is eating up a lot of bandwidth. Maybe I'm wrong on that, I don't know. skinsguy 08-18-2011, 10:23 AM An extra reciever is only $5/month. Hell, I have had a reciever waiting on a TV for months now. I knew it was going to go up after the promotional period, but it seemed like it went up a lot more than what I had factored it out to be. I tried reducing my satellite package, but that only saved me about $10. I actually was just fine without it until this football season, and so I took advantage of the reconnect deals they were sending me through the mail. I do agree with you. DTV does need to throw a bone to those loyal customers who have it for years and puts up with those high prices. If the NFL could ever negotiate with the other satellite and cable companies to provide options similar to the NFL Sunday Ticket, then you guys would have some major options of playing the satellite companies against each other. I'm lucky in that I currently live in a city in which the Redskins play on the local channels each Sunday, but I'm going to be moving a little further South next year, and I think I might be just out of the Redskins market area. I'm going to start throwing back a few bucks here and there so that if this IS the case, then I'll have the money saved up for the Sunday Ticket next season. I am one of those lucky enough to get it free this season, so at least I can check it out and see how it is so I know what to expect next season. But, call them up and negotiate with DirecTV. I've always found them to be very friendly and helpful. MTK 08-18-2011, 10:25 AM An extra reciever is only $5/month. Hell, I have had a reciever waiting on a TV for months now. Player_HTTR 08-18-2011, 10:35 AM But, call them up and negotiate with DirecTV. I've always found them to be very friendly and helpful. Yeah, I am not good at the provider switch game. But have learned quite a bit over the last couple years. Negotiate the terms of your contract for a shorter period than they say it will be for signing up for or upgrading any service. And call when your contract is about to expire. I have until Nov so I don't have much leverage but come Oct, they will be getting the "what have you done for me lately" call. skinsguy 08-18-2011, 10:50 AM Yeah, I am not good at the provider switch game. I have three months free of the movie channels and will be calling them up to cancel them. I don't really watching them THAT much anyway, but the last time I did that, they did give me another three months free for them. IRISHSKIN24 08-18-2011, 03:38 PM damn xbox, get rid of facebook and twitter. i need some sunday ticket! SmootSmack 08-19-2011, 01:54 AM I don't see any benefit to this. If you can't have a dish (not a good signal, apartment building won't allow it, etc), this is beneficial. And it targets cord-cutters. Those aren't usually sports fans, but this protects against that to an extent. BigHairedAristocrat 08-19-2011, 08:10 AM No dvr feature. Not interested |
