So now Obama feels we needed to spend 2.2 million on buses never need before. Great idea when we are out of money.

I'm not sure if you recall early in Obama's administration the Secret Service wanted approval for a new fleet of costly helicopters. The president scrapped it to save money. Oh, and how about when the Obama's used their own money to re-decorate the White House, instead of using tax payers money. I'm just saying, it would be nice if once in a while conservatives pointed these things instead of moaning about the government all the time.

In terms of these buses, they'll also be used by the eventual GOP presidential nominee later next year as they tour the country while they're on the campaign trail. Basically, Secret Service has it's own budget like any other government agency and this was a pretty good investment considering the cost to lease a bus and then retro-fit it to protect the president.

That may be true but his timing really sucks.

1.1 million for a bus used to transport and protect the president of the free world seems really inexpensive. I mean, that thing doesn't even have nice rims.
I would have bought this:

I'd roll in that and put me a bike rack on the back formy matching bike. I thought the left was all about going green.

The Republican presidential nominee will ride in one too? I hope they reject this wasteful government expenditure.

Whether the curent trip Obama is on is a campaign trip or not is up for debate.
However, having some knowledge of what's done to these types of hardened vehicles, $ 1.1M is a pretty good cost. Gas mileage on that thing must be about 1-2mpg, glad to see Obama supporting Big Oil.
(maybe he's got some Haliburton stock, and that could be why he won't bring the troops back, I wonder if MoveOn cronies will be outside the WH with "No Blood for Oil" posters).
