ASHBURN, Va. -- The duel between the kicking Grahams lasted all of one preseason game.

The Washington Redskins (http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/wsh/washington-redskins) on Sunday cut Shayne Graham (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/3504/shayne-graham), leaving incumbent Graham Gano (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/12460/graham-gano) as lone remaining kicker at training camp.

Graham is the third most accurate kicker in NFL history, but he shanked a 29-yard field goal attempt and also missed a 49-yarder in Friday's win over Pittsburgh. He had also struggled in practice leading up to the game.
Gano ranked last in the NFL in field goal accuracy last year, but he was 3 for 3 against the Steelers.
With three preseason games remaining, the Redskins have plenty of time to bring in another challenger to Gano.

Graham is the third most accurate kicker

However, this weekend he was less accurate than my grandpa's old .22

I kinda expected him to stay in camp a little longer as a camp leg. No big surprise he was cut though.

Hope they bring someone else in to compete, competition is a good thing.

He didn't just miss, he missed badly, especially on the first one.

That Graham was not all that he was crackered up to be.

Shanny said they'd like to bring someone else in, but right now there really isn't anyone out there.

[QUOTE] With three preseason games remaining, the Redskins have plenty of time to bring in another challenger to Gano.

Plus, it will give him an opportunity to catch on with another team. Kickers get around.
