Redskins vs. Steelers Preseason Pre-Game Thread

It just seems to me you thrive on disagreeing with the masses. Which is your prerogative but dude c'mon. Did you really think we looked that bad last night? I was on a high after watching the game and I was waiting for the GTripp bashing. Listen, you're a bright person, some stuff you write is really articulate but you're just really a pessimistic person.Shockingly, I disagree ;)

I mean, I'm a fan. Fans tend to be overly optimistic about a teams chances, myself included. If you read everything I write, I've probably said some ridiculously optimistic things about this team that aren't based in reality. In fact, if I've been wrong, I've been way more likely to be wrong on the side of overvaluing Redskins players than the alternative. I'm rarely wrong (that I've noticed) on the side of being critical of Redskins players.

So I often try to check myself and have found that if I'm to be more "right", I probably need to be more critical of the Redskins than I have been in the past. On a Redskins fan board, that can easily be mistaken for pessimism. But I would like to think the GTripp "ass kissers" will read my explanation to such things to see if I'm mindlessly hating on the team or if there's good reason for what I've concluded.

I don't know how many times I've mindlessly said something negative about a Redskins player. It's probably not many, but if it was, I would imagine it was probably one of about four people. And that's more about being a fan than anything else.

Did you come down hard on anyone who said that Hankerson probably shouldn't make the team in this thread? Is that not way more pessimistic than anything I wrote about the game yesterday? The guy dropped one football.

GTripp, i do apologize for the attack. Maybe I'm just alittle excited for the season. :)No worries. Like I said, I have no issue with you being critical of my opinions. None. I just thought it was ironic given your position on negativity.

GTripp, No I didn't come down on the Hankerson Haters because they aren't consistently neg...... I do agree with alot you say on this site but it seems there is more i disagree with. You're right it is your opinion but you more than anybody on the warpath seems to have a negative attitude. It's all good..... Really. I again apologize for the rude remarks.

Lol. You're right. It was a bit contradicting.

Depending on how some of our WR's and RB's do on training camp, I can see some being traded. Keilan Williams, Stallworth, Austin have value in my opinion.

our top 4 WRs are moss, jabar, donte, and AA. if banks stays too (which i think he will), then #5 is hankerson, and we send 1 or 2 to the short bus. I don't see us cutting donte for austin or the other scrubs. he can be a 100yd/game guy, he just tends to get hurt too much. paul and royster are safe on the PS I'd imagine.

the hit list right now is s graham, aldrick, kelly (too many other people did enough at a tough spot), and sellers (paulsen/young did well).

the weakest spot we'll have make the roster is one of the backup OLs, cause we need one more good player than we have.

it'll be interesting to see the new roster/position shake out though, now that special teams are a bit less important and injuries have (supposedly) been reduced, that might move a LB and DB spot to be filled by another position.

Hank the tank had 4 footballs thrown to him one was overthrown, one behind him, one he miss judged, & one he caught and received a shoulder zinger. Relax people it's his first game.

I'm sure there will be some cuts that us fans will not agree with but I seriously doubt Hankerson will be cut. Shanny likes hard workers and from all indications Hank is a hard worker. He has a lot of potential and as others have said would be picked up from our PS rather quickly. T.O. has dropped passes his whole career. (Especially when he heard Sean Taylor's footsteps. :)) I think he'll be fine as long as it doesn't become mental with him like it did with Carlos Rogers.
