Hate to scare people, and hopefully this is an isolated incident but I fast forwarded the game and found Monty getting just blown off the ball, Rabach style.

Dennis Dixon was 1/10? Really? That's...a really good job by our third team defense.

Cutting Rabach and moving Monty inside helps our OL overall. Drafting a RG high and moving Chester inside would help our OL even more next year.

Obviously we can't put but so much stock into a preseason game, but none the less that was encouraging given how badly last year and pretty much most of the last decade has gone. Still hoping for around an 8-8 season, but it's nice to see positive changes occuring through a nice combination of youth and seasoned vets.

Yeah, Casey Hampton is tough for anyone to handle but Montgomery was getting blown up

So I thought Royster was behind Helu on the depth chart, yet he played more and ahead of him and looked just as good as Helu.

Aldrick Robinson did awful.

Defense looked great, but Josh Wilson didn't impress me; Bowen and Cofield did though.

Rocky looked ok, Riley looked ok, but Keyaron Fox may have been the most impressive of the 3.

Will Montgomery, even though he was going against Hampton, was getting pushed around like a rag doll every play, in the backfield

Yeah way ahead of you all here on that one. And I'm in full agreement.

Also found this play which was a great job by Monty

4th and 1. Steelers showing heavy blitz. Monty redirects a heavy bull rush away from Sexy Rexy. With Rabach the defender would have used him (Rabach) to physically sack the QB. With Monty Rex gets a clean pocket assuming Hightower picks up his assignment (which he does).

Also on the few plays I noticed Cofield I liked what I saw. My fears of him just playing patty cake with Offensive Lineman were rendered moot. Guy knows how to fire off the ball, lock up, and in some cases toss the blocker aside to get to the ball carrier.'

Kerrigan is going to be dangerous where he starts to know what the hell he's doing lol. Personally I just loved his hustle. Most rookies will slow down and try to adjust to the game that way. Not Kerrigan. Bull in a freaking china shop. Guys going to be good. And even though he kind of looked lost during a few plays he still got tackles and QB hurries. Lot to like about Kerrigan.

By the way, I'm now convinced I was quick to judge Monty. Guy is a quality Center. Granted he got some negative attention when Hampton when beast mode on two plays in the red zone but one of those was a screen that was designed to let him through. The one before Monty got beat. Everything else I'm see is solid. Personally love his ability to get to the second level and wall off linebackers.

Hankerson needs to get rid of those tennis rackets he calls gloves. He looks like Uncle Skins with them on.
