Dont you guys no nuthin? RedskinRat 08-17-2011, 01:15 PM I think poverty (http://www.thewarpath.net/A national study on child well-being published today finds 14.7 million children - 20 per cent - were poor in 2009. The research by the Annie E. Casey Foundation found child poverty increased in 38 states from 2000 to 2009.One in five in poverty: 14.7million - or 20 per cent - of children in the U.S. live in families with incomes below the federal poverty level) is a fine motivator, and we already have that. And then there's this...... Earlier this month Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas said he'd seen no evidence to suggest Mr Thomas had been intentionally killed. 6 cops against one homeless man who was clearly undersized and undernourished? http://28.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lkwo1ye1591qzzimuo1_500.jpg firstdown 08-17-2011, 02:02 PM And then there's this...... Not sure why cops would need to use any real force after they have the man on the ground. mlmpetert 08-17-2011, 02:21 PM All these flash mobs in the US have me concerned but I don’t think we have to worry about whats happening in London happening here anytime soon. I remember when I was in HS they made a ban on more than 2 or 3 young people walking together at Springfield Mall because there were too many fights. Back then I used to think it was hatefully discrimination, now I realize it was just a great idea. Honestly im at the point where I don’t want to go anywhere where I know a bunch of adolescent males are going to be hanging out and if I have to im arming myself. I think its fortunate the US laws on gun control are more liberal than in the UK; people there are unable to defend themselves from being attacked, robbed, raped, or killed when outnumbered. When we had the Rodney King riots Asian businesses were targeted by the rioters, the police couldn’t really do anything to help them. If not for the Asian community in LA heavily arming themselves many of them may have been killed, beaten or raped and their businesses would have been destroyed, simply because they were Asian. Only the criminals and socially elite in the UK have guns. At the start of the London riots the Muslim population (particularly Pakistani) was targeted because they owned many of the businesses in poorer parts of London. Unfortunately the Muslim’s in the UK don’t have guns to protect themselves. rbanerjee23 08-18-2011, 05:45 PM Police say Japanese have returned $78 million in missing cash after quake | The Lookout - Yahoo! As for Mr. Brand, he has as much credibility or less than I do. He's not lived in the real world for decades. Funny guy, not particularly credible though. We aren't to that level yet in terms of poverty. However, that gap between the rich and poor keep expanding. That time will come. Why do you say Brand isn't credible? He's VERY credible since he's born in raised in those very areas, and was part of the rioting generation in his earlier years. Why is his voice null and void? Who the hell are you to decide that he's credible or not? I think anybody from that area has a right (and valid) voice to what they feel is wrong with the area. |
