Since I took last night to point out how loaded the Raiders are at the WR position, I'm going to take this moment to suggest that the very definition of cap hell may be "restructuring deals in August that you agreed to in March to get under the cap." Seriously. They haven't played a game since doing these deals, and they're already too difficult to fit under the cap. The Raiders aren't going to have any cap flexibility whatsoever in 2012 or 2013.
But in 2014, everyone's slate will be wiped clean thanks to the upcoming TV deals.

Looks like the Jets may be signing Derrick Mason and letting Cotchery go. Plax and Mason..that's a curious moveMason is still an above average player and a young QB's best friend, and he's likely to enjoy an end of career similar to Jerry Rice's. Plax is just old and wasn't that good before he shot himself in the leg.
The Jets receiving corps is adequate now, but they would have been better served hoping for a strong bounceback year from Cotchery than moving on to two 34+ year old guys. I really like Brian Schottenheimer, but he's got very little to work with at the skill positions this year, not to mention a gaping hole at RT.
The Jets do not strike me as a very good team, and I don't know if merely a top ten defense can get them to the playoffs.

Eagles made a lot of huge-name signings but also lost some good players and still have some holes.
They lost Stewart Bradley, Quinton Mikell, Ernie Sims, Omar Gaither, Rocca, Akers. Now huge names but they're lost starters.
Now Mike Patterson and Jeremy Maclin could have serious health issues that could keep them out for a while. Winston Justice just visited Dr. James Andrews because his rehab is taking longer than expected...never a good sign. DeSean Jackson...who knows with him...holding out, always an injury risk, will be behave himself?
Plus if Vick goes down...there goes the season. Vince Young will not take them to the playoffs even.
When looking at the FA additions, sure, they "win" on paper like we usually do. When looking at their roster in its entirety and accounting for losses too, they're not as invincible as the past week's media buzz might lead you to believe.
Yeah, they'll probably win the division but they're nowhere near SB favorites to me. Green Bay, Atlanta and New Orleans are all superior.
Bad news for Patterson - needs brain surgery.

The eagles have a huge hole at linebacker IMO. You can have great DB's but if you have no backers then nobody is going to throw the ball in the first place. And a d-line can't stop the run itself. We'll see how it all pans out.

True. Or you throw the ball to a back or TE who is covered by a linebacker.

One source familiar with talks said CBA calls for HGH testing. It must be implemented by the first game - first time ever for HGH testing.

Wow, I didn't know Aubrayo Franklin signed with the Saints. Gregg Williams is going to have a very good defense there.

The Miami Dolphins loved the 2009 Redskins so much, they've decided to become them!

Who have they signed?I was speaking specifically about a. Building an offense around Brandon Marshall and Reggie Bush, b. trying to replace the head coach in January before finding out that no one wants your crappy job, and c. entertaining the thought of replacing your young quarterback with mediocre options with no upside.
The Dolphins clearly have a trifecta. Now they just need to hire Greg Blache to start bringing in veteran defensive linemen who once played in the SEC and can no longer rush the passer.
