im just a tad bit upset that it only took 12 mil a year, and we didnt pull the trigger on that. especially since we HAVE to spend a definite amount, i just think that an elite talent like him, who rarely comes around, is worth 12 mil a year. we have the room, very disturbing, very confusing.

maybe he walked away from 2 or 3 mil per year on the table, but who in the hell could do that? lol

He wanted to play for a contender. We aren't a contender. You act like the FA doesn't have a choice in where he goes and that we could have had him for 12 mil/per year.

In Mother Russia, you don't sign bigtime receiver, bigtime receiver sign you.

Yeah, he gave the Eagles the "contender discount." You have to be a contender to get the discount though.

So much for rebuilding eh? The ghost of Vinny continues to haunt too many here.

I guess the bright side is at least we didn't try to convince a player that was at least 30 years old to sign here based on past exploits.

/Views film of Asomugha shutting down receivers like it's going out of style.

Oh damn.

Can I at least get credit for pointing out and trying to exploit one of Philly's downfalls in an attempt to bring up morale? Think I will hide now.

Im guessing that someone who just left the most disfunctional organization in the nfl wouldn't want to go the second most disfunctional organization even if for a couple bucks more.... Honestly though when a player signs for less money then he could have gotten elsewhere like houston or maybe dc its usually the type of player you really want but can only get if your team is in contention. It would be nice to have him, but he would only sign with us if it was just about the money to him. Fortunately we can play a role in making sure he retires as a great cb that never got a ring!

I applaud the 'Skins moves to date. And we're more than a 30 year old stud CB away from contending for a SB.

But damn if this doesn't make me jealous. That guy is smart, well spoken, and a TREMENDOUS team and character guy. Of all the stars in the NFL, he's got to be the least likely to punk out.

Stupid Eagles.

Yeah for every two people who are complaining we didnt get him, there would be four people complaining had we signed him because we arent building through the draft.

Well, tbh, my first impulse when I heard of the Eagles signing Nnamdi was that we need to go out and get a big time wideout to counteract that. Now that my thought process is returning to rational levels, it's still kinda hard to get used to the fact that we aren't in that mode anymore, that we need to be content to fill holes with young solid players with plenty of upside.

Now that Nnamdi is with the Eagles, I look at it kind of like a perfect match. They were already a contender, and one of their biggest weaknesses was just addressed by signing a guy perfect for their system. The Eagles will be able to put him in plenty of man to man situations, and they'll be able to do so many things with him out there shutting down half the field.

But had he signed here, I would've had my doubts about how he would fit into our system. We don't go man to a man a lot, and who knows, Asomugha might be just as good in zone as he is in man to man, but from what I've seen of him, the Raiders' coaching staff knew how to use him and make him most effective by keeping him in man to man most of the time. I think over time this will end up being a good thing for this franchise, that we didn't sign him, but you can't help but think of how much better the Eagles just got.

I guess I'm just going to console myself by saying we are on the rebuilding path this year, and that's what we need to be content doing so that we can be better in the long run. The moves that we've made this offseason indicate we're not gearing up for a run in the short term, like the Eagles are. So let them contend this year, hopefully they'll end up failing.
