This sucks- Looks like Cooley is going to miss "at least a few more weeks...."
So this essentially ends his preseason, or at best maybe he gets some action in the last game. Fred Davis is going to have a real shot to show out as TE 1.
Chris Cooley is out at least a couple of weeks, Shanahan says - The Insider - The Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/football-insider/post/chris-cooley-is-out-at-least-a-couple-of-weeks-shanahan-says/2011/08/12/gIQAS4CECJ_blog.html)A blessing in disguise, perhaps? Cooley is the kind of player whose versatility will fit in nicely to an already established offense, like the one he will be returning to.

Does anyone know what kind of injury Malcom Kelly actually has? I have never heard a good explanation of what is wrong with him. All i know is they say it is his foot.

Didn't feel like making another thread about this, but...
Blast from the past.. Kelly and Thomas will forever be linked at the hip. Both could never stay on the field healthy. At least they got paid millions of dollars to stay on IR and warm up the bench..
Coughlin on D. Thomas: 'It'll be a while' - Giants Blog - ESPN New York (http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/giants/post/_/id/5874/coughlin-on-d-thomas-it-could-be-awhile)
As far as Devin Thomas and his dislocated finger are concerned, head coach Tom Coughlin says, “It’ll be a while.”
“It’s a bad spot for a receiver,” Coughlin said of the injury, in which the bone broke the skin.
For Thomas to return, the training staff has to confident there will be no infection.
“I’m sure it will be until the time when they feel like he’s not going to gain some kind of infection because of the taping, untaping, showering, all that,” Coughlin said. “So, let’s face it, it’s a bad spot for a receiver because there are an awful lot of things that Devin could be doing out there other than that. It’ll be a while, it’ll be a while.”
Thomas had been a candidate for the No. 3 wide receiver spot, but with him not being able to compete for that spot in training camp, that appears in jeopardy. Thomas had also been hampered by an ankle injury during camp as well.
