According to a source of mine - he's taking mental steps while his knee heals....I still don't think he has enough speed to play OLB in a 3-4...

Kerrigans speed alone is the only thing that worries me as well...
I'm sure Shanny took that into consideration though.

Boy in between MP having a seizure and Maclin possibly having lymphoma, it's not a good day to be at Eagles camp today. I hope Maclin is alright, not sure what would happen with him if he is diagnosed but hopefully he can beat it and come back to keep playing football.

As for Mike Patterson, a 4 minute seizure? I can only imagine the hell that must've been for him and the players around him. My longest has only been about a minute and for that minute you tend to feel paralyzed since you can't control whatever body parts are involved in the seizure. 4 minutes is an amazingly long time to go through that, and to hear that he's up and alert and joking around is a good sign.

I like Torain and all but if he can't stay healthy there won't be a spot for him on the roster.

A 4.71 average time is slow?

I personally think the 40 is an overrated stat. I mean for the most part the game is played in 10-20 yard increments; sideline to sideline. I think agility, lateral movement, burst off the ball. Those things are just as important, if not moreso, than running the 40 in a straight line.

Completely agree. I mean how often in a given game do players run 40 yards in a straight line? Not very often in the grand scheme of things. Yet the 40 time is one of the key things looked at.

Agreed. Back when the Ravens drafted Suggs, he fell in the draft b/c his 40 time was considered slow. His comment at the time was something along the lines of "It ain't 40 yard from the line of scrimmage to the QB".

Suggs is an interesting case. He asked for a do-over after his combine performance. His 40 time was in the 4.6s for the do-over.

Is there any discussion of him moving inside?

Why would you move your other bookend pass rushing lb inside? We drafted Kerrigan to rush the passer. Not exactly an ILB's responsibility in a 3-4.
