So if we are not gonna make a play for Orton, Bulger, etc. then we seriously need to get Rex into camp. Anybody know the hold up?

Yeah. There is no immediate hurry because....

1- This gives Beck and the Rookie QB more playing/learning time.(snaps)
2- Grossman already knows the offense.
3- Technically all the FA's can't participate on the field or in the weight room until Thursday. So, whats the incentive to come in early? so he can stand on the side line and sweat for 2hrs? They keep saying he'll be back, I don't think other teams are beating down his door, and I'm sure he's just playing it smart.... show up late Wed. and sign the contract so he can be on the field Thursday. No big deal.

I'm sure some of the panic is Beck throwing interceptions and not hitting the long ball all that well.... keep in mind other teams are going through the same problems until they all can get back into a groove together again.

Sidney Rice signed with the Seahawks last Wednesday? What the heck man. I'm on top of nothing.

Not looking forward to a long season of struggles but i mean we have to be realistic. We are 1 or 2 injuries away from being swept by every team in the NFC Conference.

I like that you think we need to be realistic, but at the same time, we are 1 or 2 injuries away from being swept by every team in the NFC? Now I'm no Kool-Aid sipper, but come on. That just makes you sound like you're in the doom and gloom club. Every team deals with injuries. That's why we need to have good depth. This team has addressed that through the draft and free agency. One thing all these position battles have the advantage of bringing is the fact that the best guys for the jobs will win the jobs.

That is 100 % correct because even if every single player on this team stays healthy we are no better than a 4-12 - 5-11 team. We all know thats impossible , but yes absolutely we are the bottom feeders of the NFC as we speak.

Sorry, this is just a ridiculous statement. While there's a lot of "knowns" on this team there are also a lot of unknowns and how those variables come together will greatly affect how we finish.

We've gotten younger, gotten rid of divas and distractions. Our QB position is suspect but our O-line has had a year in Shanny ZB system and has some young guys, we've added defensive pieces to fit the 3-4 defensive scheme we play, and gotten younger across the board. In doing so, we have added a lot of pieces that have yet to be given their chance to start and play together. Their are so many unknowns on this team that we could be anywhere from 4-12 to 10-6.

Are we super bowl bound? Almost certainly not, but stranger things have happened. Certainly, if the young guys step up, we could be a vastly improved team. We have a creampuff schedule (relatively speaking) and have a lot of young, hungry guys - many teams have had success with that formula. If they have sufficient talent - which we just don't know yet - we could have a decent run.

It's a different way of building a team. Essentially, this is year two of what looks to be at 4-5 year plan. The roster is being cleared out and guys who will play the Shanahan way are coming in. You want "sign guys to win now"? A pox on you! It has been soooo successful for us in the past.

Given the roster turnover and all the variables involved - Right now, claims that we are doomed are almost as foolish as claims we are going to the Super Bowl.

We are definitely not going to win 6 or more games this year you can cut that out. Our roster is cluttered with over paid scrubs!! They only wanted money and thats why we have them. As for the rest they were either unlucky to be drafted by us, or are so injury prone no one else wants them.

Im dreading the first game we play but by december we will be getting spanked on a regular basis & a whole year will be wasted on not developing a young QB.

That's ridiculous. We aren't elite, but we aren't the carolina panthers either. I expect we will be a middle of the pack team, but one that plays every game tough. (something we haven't seen a lot of this last decade). We will probably end up 7-9 to 9-7 depending on how some bounces go.

He's still an upgrade over Henson, Riley, Alexander etc. And he seems pretty healthy having played all 16 games last season. I'm really pulling for this signing.

How do you know? None of those guys have been given a chance to play.
