Lotus 07-28-2011, 01:24 PM How have we improved talent offensively from 2010? We now have the Clemens-to-Stallworth connection. :silly: Ruhskins 07-28-2011, 01:26 PM How have we improved talent offensively from 2010? Rabach is gone and T. Williams will have a year under his belt. I think that's a start. MTK 07-28-2011, 01:31 PM How have we improved talent offensively from 2010? On paper, the WR's and RB's will undoubtedly be improved. The OL should also be better pending a couple of moves. QB is still a question mark. BigHairedAristocrat 07-28-2011, 01:32 PM rabach being gone doesnt help us because we dont know who his replacement will be or how they will perform. T. WIlliams having an extra year under his belt doesnt help at all... especially when he skipped all the player-led workouts We dont know if brown is coming back so our line, which was in flux all year, will continue to be in flux. its going to take alot of time for whomever are starters are to gel. Add to that we got rid of a fairly mobile qb who escaped a ton of sacks last year for a John Beck. I know that McNabb didnt light it up last year but there's no way Beck will perform better than him, especially without a solid o-line in front of him. We dont have a single proven running back on our roster. We have added alot of receives, but none of them constitute clear upgrades over what we had last year. yeah we resigned moss at a good price, but you cant tell me he will put up better numbers a year older with john beck throwing to him behind an offensive line in flux. our defense will improve this year by default, but, given everything we've seen thus far, our offense should project to be MUCH worse than it was last year. Free agency has just begun so theres plenty of time to add some guys, but as of right now, there is ZERO reason to beleive the offense will be improved. WIlliams having an extra year under his belt doesnt help at all... especially when he skipped all the player-led workout. Really? A whole year of NFL experience as a starting LT gets trumped by skipping player-led workouts? I think you are reaching here with this comment. MTK 07-28-2011, 01:39 PM Beck will get the ball out quicker than DM. DM might have avoided some sacks, but he caused his fair share by not making quick decisions. Ruhskins 07-28-2011, 01:40 PM Beck will get the ball out quicker than DM. DM might have avoided some sacks, but he caused his fair share by not making quick decisions. And having a center that can block and not step on the QBs foot will help. I am glad for football back, but man can you be any more negative? rebuilding and re-working a perennial loser (:() is not a 1 step process, and competition is never a bad thing. You and Tripp need to go sit in the corner and mumble into your coffee about how miserable the world is. I would suggest that every receiver signed is an absolute upgrade over anything we had last year at the 3/4 spots (Galloway/Williams) and that it is possible that Hankerson or some other receiver may show themselves to upgrades over Anderson at the 2 spot. As for RB's, perhaps, but RB's good RB's (not great) RB's are relatively easy to find. Torrain/Williams are both starters and filled in well for CP last year. So we have a running back by committee, NO won a SB with that - their "lead" rusher that year was an uproven, undrafted guy. Our O-Line is instantly better by dumping Casey "when I'm not holding, I'm whiffing" Rabach. Is there still some work to be done - yup. But to say the line won't improve after a year in Shanny's system. McNabb a mobile QB who "eluded sacks" maybe. I also saw a guy who held the ball too long so that he had to run. It all depends on the play of the QB - I think that the FO has already provided this team better tools for the QB than it had last year. JoeRedskin 07-28-2011, 01:56 PM Really? A whole year of NFL experience as a starting LT gets trumped by skipping player-led workouts? I think you are reaching here with this comment. Yeah, that was - to me - one of the most inane critiques made. TW will have a full second training camp and has shown a dedication to his craft by changing his diet in the offseason. So he missed some, essentially, 7-7 drills that build some camraderie. Somehow, I think the other players will get over that. Really, to me, that comment just demonstrated a determination to be negative. |
