He has 5 TD's and 11 int's. I see a trend with our QB's.

He's definitely going to Houston and Vince Young tells me ('cause that's how I roll) he's not coming to Washington...but then again I've been "lied" to in the past

I hear VY could be headed to Philly.

To me, this signing says more about the Redskins plan to rebuild the QB position than it does about Kellen Clemens. Kellen Clemens, Matt Leinart, and John Beck all have something in common. They were all top two round picks. They all had really good predictive college statistics. They all can be acquired at bargain basement prices (I think Leinart is not coming here because there's actually a market for him).

Basically, the Shanahan's are making a bet that the market missed on a QB drafted between 2006-2008 and they can find him. They're probably right on the first clause: probability alone suggests that NFL types probably missed on Leinart OR Clemens OR Quinn OR Beck OR Nate Davis. But obviously, they didn't miss on all of them.
And personally, the one guy in that group who seems like he has the least upside is Beck. But at least, I believe, the intentions are in the right place.

How is that obvious? You may be correct but it is also possible that all of them are mediocre at their very best...

Also, even if only one of them is going to turn out to be "more than just decent" as a QB, that would give a team - - like the Skins - - only a 20% chance of picking the one that will turn out well.

Clemens will not embarrass a team as a back-up QB. However, if he is the guy who wins the QB competition and the guy you start the season with, the team's fortunes look bleak

I'm a little confused on the signing of Clemens, who has been a career-back up thus far in the NFL. That leaves us with John Beck, also a backup, and Rex Grossman, who is now the only proven NFL starter on our QB chart.

I want to ask the veteran members here why the Redskins didnt go after a starting caliber Free Agent QB? Someone like Matt Hasselbeck, or Marc Bulger? I think Bulger is finished but he has tons of starting expereince, and I could see him lasting here for one year while we prepare for the future.

Is the answer just as simple as Mike Shanahan beleives that he can win with these guys? Does this make Rex the favorite to start??

EDIT: Vince Young is now very much back in play. Nothing can happen of course before he gets cut but he's once again a strong possibility

Why haven't they cut him already? What are they waiting for?
